Yes friends, the vampires are finally waking from their deep slumber, oddly enough the first one was in Texas.

Ok, so he isn't really a vampire but instead a mentally deranged 19 year old, but it still makes for an amusing story.

It seems this suspect was... out for blood

I don't like the entire, "Twilight caused this" sidenote. Twilight might send me into a bloodrage, but I'm not inspired by it.

Twilight series inspire people with mental illnesses? Ha. Haha. HAHAHA.

"Beware my sparkles! Don't worry young girl! I shall protect you from this car!" *SMASH*

Sorry... couldn't help it.

OT: This was very dissapointing I was really hoping for vampires... *sigh*

They say it pretty right:

"Vampires are very prominent in our society right now from a pop culture standpoint. And that information can feed into hallucination,"

Whatever crazy stuff is popular in pop culture can feed into hallucinations. Whether it's Twilight vampires, Action flick US marines, medieval knights or even TV-soap surgeons.

Point is that the hallucinations are causing it, the way it manifests just differs based on what material the patient comes into contact with. But removal of that material will just make the hallucination manifest as something else.

No, Associate Professor Josh Klapow of the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Vampires being popular didn't cause this guy to hallucinate.

What caused him to hallucinate was his painfully obvious and full-blown galloping case of the crazies.

He's not saying Twilight is what caused them, he is saying that due to the Dracula wannabe's exposure to vampires though film and television it feed into his hallucinations and made him think they were reality. Part of being batshit crazy is having difficulties distinguishing what is actually reality from your perception of what you think is reality.

Although, you must remember, Twilight has killed before, remember this poor bastard [http://www.avclub.com/articles/man-dies-during-screening-of-eclipse,42822/]

Well, that kind of sucks.

As an aside, I always found mental disabilities to be very interesting. Just imagine what the world looks like through this guy's eyes.

He managed to climb two fences before he was arrested, and yelled that he "didn't want to have to feed on humans",
Did no one think of giving him a fucking cheeseburger?

I'm just waiting for a story about a boy throwing red painted tennis balls at people yelling "get in the fucking pokeball *****".

And once again gamers prove they have the reading comprehension of a 6-year-old. No one "blames" Twilight, read again.
Makes you wonder how many "anti-gaming controversies" actually only exist because gamers want them to be there [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/112338-Authorities-Blame-Games-for-Sword-Attack].

That's actually an interesting idea... The sunlight that is. Just to see how he'd react when he doesn't catch fire or dissolve or anything, or how people would react if he actually did =P

OT: This is probably gonna be an interesting story for Fox.

Well that makes a lot more sense and I should have read this more carefully. It's just hard to get beyond "boxer-wearing dude who thinks he's a vampire beats the shit out of Texan woman" and still take shit seriously.

Though I still disagree with the air that vampire culture is still kind of bad for influencing this. If it wasn't vampires he'd be painted purple with rainbow stickers on his left arse cheek and talking in a high-pitched girl's voice while doing this shit; the guy had clearly fallen off his rocker and down a flight of stairs.

Though actually I'd imagine a 19 year old guy dressed as one of the Ponies would be beyond hilarious.

Still my, main question throughout all of this: why was he only wearing boxers? Deluded or not, if you're going to be assaulting women you put on more than just boxers surely.

Damn, that was well-said. Never thought about like that before.
