So I got a bit of cash saved up and decided to buy an Xbox ~ The new 250 gig one and the charge and play kit for the wireless controller. I also flirted a bit with the idea of getting a 2nd controller, either the wired one (cant seem to find black ones on amazon uk tho) or another wireless pad and the venom cradle (or some combination of the two) and Im all open to suggestions.

Since I got rent and a shitload of other expenses I thought Id best buy 7 games to kick off my collection and get new ones every month or so from now on ~~ and I've picked these out:

Fallout 3 GOTY (w all the expansions)
Dead Space
Mass Effect
Mass Effect 2
Bayonetta
Dragon Age (without Awakening)
&
either Borderlands or Fable II or maybe Dante's Inferno ~~ havent decided yet.

Since there's plenty people with Xboxes on this forum Id love it if you could throw in your 2 cents about games and accessories and such since Im new to the Xbox thing. Even come up with your own 7 Xbox games lists if its not too much hassle.

I just started playing it yesterday but Darksiders is amazing. The hack and slash of God of War with the dungeons of Legend of Zelda. It's not original in the least, but it proudly wears it's influences on it's sleeve like a love letter to our favorite games (spoiler: Even Portal is an influence). It's also pretty cheap now (less than $30 new, I got it used for $10)

Saints Row 2 is also a must have game. You'll lose many hours just messing around seeing what you can do in it's world. It's new for $19.99

Assasins Creed 1 & 2 The first one is so average it hurts, but the story leads into #2. The second one got everything right, just a hell of a fun game. The first one will set you back $19.99 new or $5-$10 used and the second one is in the sub $30 range.

I've heard nothing but good things about Darksiders so far ~~ underrated despite being an excellent game ~~ scratch that, meant to say "the darkness"

Is halo reach really worth it tho? ~~ not a big fan of rail shooters and didnt get into the whole sci fi theme despite ~~ and I did get to play the first two.

Do you have a PC that can run Fallout 3? If so get it for the PC, you will get access to mods and most importantly The Console. The Console will come in very handy when NPCs decide to do things like throw themselves off high catwalks. I can't really make any game recommendations as I don't have a console. If I did I'd be getting Red Dead Redemption, but I love Westerns.

i suggest borderlands the story is a little meh but on the plus side its immersive and has a good sense of humour (and if possible get the expansions the mad moxxi ones a little iffy but the other 2 are fantabulous)
also if you like fallout 3 give fallout new vegas a try

Red Dead Redemption
Left 4 Dead ( The 1st one. )
Elder Scrolls IV : Oblivion
Halo 3
Battlefield: Bad Company 2
Gears of War 2
Mass Effect 2

Accessories : Get a plug in charger. Cost around £10 for my one , and will save you money spent buying batteries. :)

Well you pretty much got all the accs you will need. And your list of games is awesome. I personally don't use the charge and play kits. I found it was cheaper to buy a battery charger and 4 rechargeable batteries (so I always have a back up). Ended up saving about 20 bucks at the time (the charge and play kits have dropped down in price since then though).
