7 things that make me miserable:

1. Internet nihilism
2, How cracked.com is often taken seriously by its readers, when it's just a humour website where just about anyone brave enough to submit something reasonably funny and well-written can potentially get published and have their ill-informed opinions turned into viral links that get spammed on forums for many years to come
3. How many people don't learn from history about how every new communication technology from the book to the telephone to papyrus was maligned and criticised when it first became popular, before gradually becoming accepted by all
4. List threads
5. Technology and cultural change being used as a scapegoat for mental health issues
6. Social-network bashing on internet forums and humour websites (themselves forms of social networks)
7. Not being able to think up a last point to neatly round out this list

And yeah I don't like the article much. I could take it to pieces in a paragraph or two, but, it's just a humour article, so.... meh.
I have to second this opinion... it's so very, very true.

Anyway, here's another 7 things that make me miserable (besides the ones i've quoted):

1: No Lombaxes 'round this part of the universe, and probably never will be.
2: Warhammer 40k as popular as ever, and will probably only rise.
3: I don't get to rule my own dictatorship and order Faceless Minions[sup]TM[/sup] around.
4: I don't get to nuke stuff i don't like (including Cracked).
5: Cats are still considered baby-eating villains by everyone and their dog (ohhhooo, do you see what i did there?)
6: Elitism.
7: Elitism.

I will state one reason we're miserable, we aren't all still thinking.
This isn't an insult, most people just drift through life in a sort of trance, only doing what they have to, getting drunk and finding some place with sun and half-naked people on beaches to go on holiday.

They don't think because they don't need to, sentience is optional and it's much easier to follow trends and drift around on the ideas of others than it is to "waste resources" doing it all yourself.

I look forward to the day when we can go "this is what I think" not "this is what I heard and what I think (now)".

EDIT: Incase you didn't want to go through the whole thing; we live in a world that matches the one in "A Brave New World".

I can't really think of seven things that makes me miserable in the 21st century, I can't think of anything that makes me miserable that is specific to just the 21st century,

1. Coexistence has never existed in human history(Lack of coexistence make's me miserable btw)
2. Not all Countries allow free market trade (again not just from our current century)
3. Exploiting the earth for profit has obviously been around before oil was a primary source for locomotion, but none-the-less entire ecosystems have suffered over the centuries.

The closest thing i can think of is the corrupt and in-accurate reporting of mass media.

1) Complete bullshit, I talk to people online all the time, and I grew up in the ghetto of my city and I am not a ghetto person. I gots me plenty of annoying people, though I do agree that a tolerance needs to be built, which I have done.

2) Also bullshit, all my friends are annoying.

3) I agree entirely, I get in shit for my humor online all the time.

4) Bullshit, online company saved my life. I have Depression, it was crippling, WoW friends made me feel better.

5) Bullshit, I'm critisized for everything I do.

I got bored after that, it's his opinion, it's an interesting opinion, but my life seems like the counter to all his points. Except the texting one.
