actually it was a man accused of killing someone, and he lived in the apartment above the little girls. At least apartment is what I think it's called. In the article it seems more like one house, with a family living on each floor.

I had a friend who lived in Detroit. He had two other friends who went out to get soda one day; just so happend that as they did that, the gas station they went to was robbed.

The two of them (14 year olds vs. a crackhead, mind) subdued him; one of them threw nacho cheeze at his face, the other hit him over the head with a two liter. The one who threw the cheeze at the mugger was shot by him, and the other one was shot by a police officer that happened to be walking by. The police officer and the store owner were both shot by the mugger. All four of them died before help could arrive.

So yeah, assholes. Detroit is like Chicago in the 20s, only worse because guns are more accurate nowadays.

That fucking pig needs to be charged with murder. They knew there were children in the place. They were warned. They used excessive enough force with the bloody flash bang as it was but to then fire into the home from the porch, without knowing what you are even shooting at.

The officer broke all operating procedures of engaging a contact. Its not like in a game where you shoot first ask questions later. If someone is killed in a car accident, intentional or not the driver responsible is punished, same goes for police and shooting wildly into a home.

I'm with you on this Konrad... except possibly without the profanity. If a truck driver runs over a kid he's charged with murder, if a hunter fires and hits someone else by mistake he's charged with murder. Why should the police be different? Let a jury decide, that's fair.

What's even more worrying is that the other cops lied. If a regular citizen did that they'd be charged as an accessory to murder. I don't see any charges.

The role of the police is to uphold and protect the law, and see to it that the law is applied equally to everyone. The moment that they try to put themselves above the law they make a mockery of their position and are no longer fit to serve. Dismissing and then criminally charging every single cop involved in this incident and cover-up is the only way forward. New cops can be trained, but crooked cops can't be permitted.

And I'm certain there was a good reason for the shot anyway - it always is when it's the police" - will all still be there tomorrow.

..The reason for that is that people who say: "let's not jump to conclusions, maybe the girl had a gun, and the police saw it through the window because of the flashbang blast illuminating the background" - are also the kind of people to report posts they dislike, and offer long and exhaustive reasons for why their brain suffered permanent damage from witnessing swear-words, offensive opinion, and nasty sarcasm. Naturally, their messages are perfectly fine, because they do not contain references to either rebellion and police brutality, nor contain swearwords. Which makes it completely mainstream.

I mean, the mods here are not that different from anywhere else. So I'm confidently betting a virtual smacking over the head on this.
