I am the wisest, for I alone know not who was Socrates.
That was a bit too easy, wasn't it. He might as well have been real, but just like Jesus, his actual existence is somewhat irrelevant, it's the trains of thought they represent that does. Jesus said that to love, or at least not be a selfish asshole, is divine; Socrates said that to claim you know the answers, you'll fail to spot the 18 wheeled truck with 4 wheels and might send all of humanity in the dark ages, e.g. religious leaders.
