It took 9 months longer then intended, a broken promise to their kickstarter backers and going back on their own pricing modle that was the single worst thing to be introduced to the video game industry because of Early Access (probably the reason they diseded to stop using it and show that kickstarter is in fact not a reference for alpha and beta release prices after all), but it's been released for good, and 10$ less then they said it would be. Not really sure how to feel about this since I'm still upset about the audacity they had for their initial pricing modle, even if they smartened up and realized it was a pretty stupid one. But hey, at least that's another Early Access game which has moved from "maybe we'll finish it at some point" to "hey, it's actually finished".

Except that it's not actually finished. They still have loads of bugs, issues with their servers, and they don't even have an offline mode. So if you're playing a single player game against the AI and their servers crap out? Oops guess you lost your game, sucks for you. Which is only made worse by the fact that there's no way to save mid-round. You either finish the entire match in one sitting (if you can manage to get through without lagging out) or you have to start all over next time you play.

What, like literally every Bethesda game and a good chunk of other RPGs and strategy games?

Did they promise one?
Yes, yes they did promise an offline mode. They also said they'd remove their DRM at launch, and while it's not all that obtrusive it's still there.

Well I'm going to have to retract that. I swear I remember reading that in one of their posts on either their site/steam, but I cannot find a link and Google just brings up other people making the same claim. Of course just like myself they provide no link.

They changed and took out the "offline mode" promise from their website, figures they'd change that and currently on the Steam forums they don't even have an ETA because apparently Uber "don't do ETA's" according to some dude they hired to moderate their forum page on there which makes me wonder what the fuck is going on, why did they hire a dude that isn't even a member of the dev team who also has no communication with said dev team?.

This is exactly like Castle Story all over again where on Steam we're stuck with a random nobody who isn't connected with the team and just dishes out bullshit excuses and makes no attempts to contact the team or get someone in there, it's complete and utter pointless wank, I'm sorry but it's completely true, if you need someone on the Steam forums for your product make sure it;s either yourself or someone from the dev team because we are customers and we certainly don't take bullshit.

The game is also "released now" so there's no hiding behind the "EA" excuse, there is no other possible way for them to skirt around it, they have to give is what they promised and more and do it pronto.

Sad part is there's already people threatening with refundsa and I think they are completely in the right to do so, I loved the game from the start but now it;s released and always online with no sight or sign of an offline and now I'm just plain pissed off because my guy bought me this as an early Xmas present last year and while I was excited I can't help but feel he wasted his money on this...

This isn't a good start for trying to bring RTS games back, we need stable and fully operation servers, an offline mode straight out of the gate and more content, it just isn't good enough as it currently stands and makes me disappointed since RTS is my most favourite genre.

Pretty disappointed, not going to lie.

Fortunately, I didn't kick start the game for all that much money. And whilst it's unfortunate to have to get burned by a project to learn this lesson, at least I got something out of it.

No, you were correct as Uber went to a trouble of removing traces of the statements from Steam and Kickstarter pages. Here is a link to the PA forums where someone provided links to the waybackmachine snapshots from 2013.

I think I'll be waiting on single player for this, if only to recapture some of the fun I had with total annihilation.

Congratulations to the dev team and supporting gamers though for getting this to release.

Also I thought I;d try the launcher from their page instead of using Steam's, trouble is all I get is a pink screen whenever I launch it and everything is up to date, graphics driver,DX, the lot of it and there doesn't seem to be a proper universal solution from my browsing either.

Guess I'm stuck with the Steam launcher only =/.
