Hey y'all!

My DS is broken.

The shoulder buttons don't work, and I'm considering opening it up to take a look at it.
Does anyone have an idea what to look for on the inside?

Any help is appreciated.

So, for added discussion: Has a system of yours broken, and what steps did you take, if any, to get it fixed?

Well, I had my DS even when the top screen broke. Suprsingly some games were still playable. Sorry that I can't help you.

My Ds has it's screens litterally hanging on a wire. Sometimes it works but it mostly just goes all fuzzy and is pretty much unplayable. Can't help you with your problem though, sorry.

Well, thanks for thinking of me. My dad fixed his mouse recently, and the two buttons work fairly similarly, so I should be fine.

I don't think I can help in any meaningful way on that matter, but I would like to let you know that I laughed my ass off when I saw your avatar and opening line. I guess my sleep deprivation makes everything hilarious.

The first Nintendo thing in existence that can break???

It's actually rather common, I have a bunch of friends with that problem. We got a guy in our town that can fix it for like $25 sooo... Ask around, see if someone in your town will...

I'd suggest looking online for some guides to fix it, there must be some.

I've never really had a system break on me, unless I rage broke it.

Ok. Honestly, though, it's my first Nintendo product to break on me.

So far it hasn't been too much of an issue, but I can't play Metroid Prime.
/sigh...

This...my DS lite is one tough little bastard. Dropped numerous times, been through the washing machine (While off of course), and who knows how many greasy/sticky fingers.

This sounds weird, but you might as well try: with all your breath, blow a blast of air into the cracks of your shoulder buttons, all around. It worked for my DS, it worked for my sister's DS, and it worked for my friend's DSi. It just might work on yours.
Thanks man! That worked!

I love you, man

The hammer you'd use would likley break first.

Nintendo consoles are basically indestructible seriously I heard a story about one getting hit by lightning,
It was sent in for repairs and when it arraived for a laugh the repair guy put new batteries and a copy of tetris in and it still woeked, half the screen was melted but you could hear the theme just fine.
