Dogs are the weirdest animals because it?s so easy to become attached to them and they are around for so little time I put down my American Eskimo today and i feel more sorrow than when a distant family member dies.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I balled my eyes out when my dog died (13 years old), but only shed a few tears when my grandmother died.

Man, I don't want to lose my dog. I'm gonna miss him...

..which is more than I can say for a lot of people in my life.

Man I dread the day when it's my Max's turn to give a paw to the reaper.

I'm sorry for the loss of your pet. I love my pet more than most people, so if you're anything like me it'll be hard.

After reading this, my dog just came up next to me and just fell down and aparently asked me to scratch him. Damn you. Now I am worried about him. Sorry for your loss. My cousin put her dog down and she cried for about 2 months.

I was depressed for weeks after I had to give up my rat terrier when I moved. I honestly can't say it was the same kind of pain I would have felt if he had passed away.

I'm sorry to hear that man.

Get a turtle next time, it might outlive you.
And they're so adorable when they're munching salad.

Anyway, sorry for your loss. Losing pets can feel almost like losing a member of the family.

I'm sorry man.
I think we love dogs/cats/pets so much because they're always there and they (usually)love you.
I had to watch my cat be put down when I was in 5th grade, that wasn't fun at all..
And yet when I find my grandma has breast cancer, I don't even tear.
Luckily she beat it.

Awwww....so sorry! :'(

Our old Shar-pei is already two years older than the average lifespan for his breed, and it hurts to watch him get slow and stiff, because we know what's coming. And my kitty's already 11 years old. *sighs*
I *do* have turtles, however...and they'll be around for another 40 years at least, the little buggers. (love them!)

I am sorry for you loss. I will probably fall down crying when my dog dies. He means so much to me.

Turtles are awesome. I had one once. Mine was named Bob (my ex and best friend's husband named him. They love telling the story of how he got his name) and would eat more then lettuce. It ate chicken fingers, french fries, and lot of other things that you wouldn't expect a turtle to eat.

Ive never felt any strong feelings towards pets, and my family owned numerous animals when I lived with them. I guess not everyone has those feelings.

well, its because you are around the dog 24/7, while not the same with your Gma. Also dogs are amazing. And sorry for your loss, i suffered the same earlier this summer.

Does it have anything to do with Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Almighty Bob)?
I doubt it, but that'd be awesome.

Awww, a turtle eating french fries sounds so cute.
I'm not normally like that, but I really have a soft spot for turtles.
