Sorry that they're all from FFVII, but that game had really great characters (excluding Zell, who made me want to punch his mouth clean off) and these were the first ones that sprung to mind.

For a conversation, probably any game character ever. Just because it would be interesting to talk in a non-pre-determined way to a game character, especially the NPCs, instead of having to sit through scripts of conversation where really you'd be saying something completely different. Give the NPCs especially their own voices rather than relying on the structure and nuances of the game to fix what they have to say...

For a battle, I'd enjoy fighting Auron. He'd be a good challenge. Or perhaps leading any army from any RTS into battle, especially in the Dawn of War series. Mainly because I'm such a great tactician and I never get the chance to show this off except in online battles on my favourite RTSs. Times like that, I wish I had joined the army or RAF instead of doing the university route...

And as for a date, either Rikku (because she's cute), April Ryan (what? I like moody goth-style girls) or Alice (the American McGee version). If I could pick a non-game character I'd want to date, then Lucy from Elfen Lied. I have a strange thing about psychotic crazy girls who enjoy torturing their enemies and allies alike, and I have a thing for goth girls (though I guess April Ryan isn't really much of a goth, strictly speaking...).

I'd want a date with Eva from MGS3 - she was fucking hot. Staying with the MGS theme, I'd want to have a conversation with Snake, which is bound to last at least 25-40 minutes, so at least it would be interesting. Following that, we'd battle, probably just due to the fact that he'd annoy the hell out of me since he'd repeat every 5th word I said. I'd probably lose, since it's Snake and all, but it'd be cool.

Date: Hmm...Lara Croft? I'm a traditionalist. Or maybe Elika from Prince of Persia 2008.

Let's see......

For Dating, I'd pick Aqua from the upcoming Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep. She's more than capable in combat, she's very responsible (at least as far as I can tell), and she's got a real hand in magic. Plus, she's GORGEOUS.

For Battling, I'd pick Kratos. Sure, I'd most likely die a horrible, painful death, but at least it would be cinematic.

For Conversation, I would love to have a nice, long chat with Naija from Aquaria. Sure, it wouldn't be possible, since last time I checked, I couldn't breathe underwater. However, just to hear what it was like to slay all those Aquarian gods, and to hear that exotic, almost alien accent of hers.
