So, on my new laptop I have Norton, but on my old one I had Kaspersky. Should I keep Norton or get Kaspersky? I ask this because Norton has only 30 days left until I have to renew it, and since I have never used Norton I am not sure how it compares.

Get rid of Norton.

I personally use MSE and MBAM, but I've heard good things about Kaspersky.

AVG and avast are good free anti-virus programs. There is not reason to pay unless the service you receive insures you or something to that end.

Norton's entire marketing strategy seems to be to pay PC manufacturers to pre-install a trial on new computers and then spam them with "BUY THIS NAO!" messages until they get money...

I have yet to hear someone like it.

Use Microsoft Security Essentials. Free, and among the best antivirus programs out there.

Norton is a swear among people in the business.
My personal superstar tag team is AVG Free for defence and MalwareBytes Anti-Malware for attack. Boosh!

I'm partial to Microsoft Security Essentials, and it's free if you have a legit copy of Windows.

I use AVG internet security. Solid Freeware av, spectacular paid av. Dump norton before it destroys your computer. Kaspersky also gets a thumbs up from me. Another one that's not mentioned is ESET nod32. Another solid AV that friends of mine use, worth checking out.
