Trained in the ways of brutal cunning, like that of the Ork God Mork, Grimmfang is rather competent (by Ork standards) in the art of infiltration and sabotage, causing damage and crippling the enemy ahead of the war-band; allowing the other Boys a fighting a chance to reaching the enemy lines unscathed, or at the very least, with a lot less bolter holes in them. He's even up for bit of assassination now and again, after all, taking out a high ranking humie before a fight can certainly cause a drop in morale. Outside of combat his infiltration skills are useful in scouting and helping to gather intelligence for the Warboss's plans.

As with many other Kommandos and those who follow Mork, Grimmfang is smarter than an average Ork, so he is able to put a bit more thought into his fighting plan; and he is somehow able to understand/speak the humie language of Low Gothic to a certain extent, a useful skill if he gets lost inside of a large base; although his capacity to actually write it is not as impressive, only managing a few basic phrases.

Appearance:

Grimmfang by and large looks like your standard Ork, green-skinned, physically imposing whilst still allowing for agile movement, stands at around 6'6'' when not hunched, and just over 6'1'' when he is. His face is covered in black camouflage paint in stripes to help make up what the camo-cloak doesn't cover. A dark red bandana covers his forehead, which is where you'll normally find his Scanna Gahgals when not in use, resting on his forehead. Two small gold coloured earrings adorn his right ear. Eye colour is a pale yellow. Underneath it all, are scars going across his body, primarily on the chest and arms. The Jolly Ork symbol is emblazoned on his right shoulder.

Bio:

Grimmfang has been about for an untold number of years, often drifting about the known galaxy, offering his services as a mercenary to various Ork clans and the occasional Humie lord who weren't too particular about how the job was carried out . No one is quite sure of which clan he originally came from, though some Orks suspect it was the Blood Axes due to his rather un-Orky nature as a Kommando and his use of tactics.

At some point in his life Grimmfang came across a passing Freebooters Krooza in the Caldera System and decided to throw in his lot with them; as something within him was saying that this was the right thing to do, and sure enough it was. The nature of this particular Krooza was that of being mercenaries for various Humies who needed a quick and "expendable" army, something that could be quietly covered up (ironic given the Orky nature for loud noises). His abilities as a Kommando have been put to effective use, often as leverage (i.e. threats) where negotiations are concerned.

Recently, the Kaptin has caught wind of a Humie Krooza that is planning to go to the edge of space, and has sent Grimm to go and investigate what they're up to, and if the Krooza is worth taking for their own purposes. Luckily he has somehow managed to sneak aboard.

Career/ Affiliation: A shadowseer of the Eldar harlequins.

Bio: Ysenelle has stated that her reason to join on with the rogue trader is to explore and perform.
Ysenelle believes that the Eldar race is coming to an end slowly, in spite of this she has gone off on her own as many harlequins are known to do in order to spread knowledge of the Eldar's past but also to potentially find a sliver of antiquity, a relic or even a hint of anything that could aid in the long term preservation of the Eldar race.
After being required to make contact with a Dark Eldar Archon to facilitate a temporary truce between an Eldar outpost and some Dark Eldar raiders to annihilate a Necron force bent on some unforeseen objective Ysenelle decided she would rather put some distance between herself and that potential role again as she finds slavery, murder, sacrifice and rape distasteful.

Misc: Doesn't like heights. Has a tendency to wander off and get drunk rarely. Insists petrifying random people by hinting when they're going to die is necessary and not just for her fleeting amusement.

Skills: The experiments Jack went through has made him (now more of an it) hard to detect, enhanced strength due to bionics, and while not necessarily skilled he is proficient in sword and gun play.

Appearance: Not all that intimidating when he?s 5'10, just smaller than your average human. His right eye is a dark blue, while his skin is a pale white, and his hair is a disorganized mess and not well kept. While he can change the color of his hair if he really wanted to, he usually keeps it as a dirty blonde color. He is currently unable to grow any form of facial hair, he insists that eventually he?ll ?find a way.? Unfortunately he?s no good as a spy as his cybernetics have made one of his eyes constantly glow green.

He avoids unwanted attention by wearing any eye wear he can find around him glasses, masks, and once an eye-patch. All his cybernetics are internal giving him the outer appearance of your average human. He wears whatever he can get his hands on.

However when he engages in a mission he wears a makeshift suit that he has been able to scavenge. The suit makes him stand at about 6'2. Making him slightly taller than the average human. It consists of a black skin tight combat suit with multiple holsters and pouches. The helmet covers his entire head covering any and all features. There's a visor to see out of but it's the weakest part of his suit.

Jack's Makeshift Suit: Is a makeshift suit made from the armor he scavenged from the dead enemies he's found. Parts of the suit are also made from when he was first awoken. The suit itself is lightweight offering mobility but little defense. It has quite a few pouches on it offering a means to carry his weapons. The most notable feature is the fact that he can turn invisible. However since he hasn't had enough contacts/money, he has not been able to get good gear. Rendering his suit only half function, making him only "half invisible."

Augmetics: He has a few Bionics Organs (mostly in the brain area). He also has a bionic eye which allows him to see heat, energies, etc. The bionics also slightly increase his physical abilities. strength, sight, etc.

Bio: Jack was originally made as an underground attempt at an ?assassin? servitor. Unfortunately, when things started to go downhill for the organization, they attempted to sell him half-finished to keep them afloat a little longer. When contact was made at an anonymous planet, the deal went south and a fight broke out. During the fight the subject was activated. His programming was only half finished and he broke free. Killing everyone at the drop off point and escaping on one of their ships, even managing to grab a few weapons and armor pieces from the deceased guards.

That was four years ago. Jack worked as a mercenary for some time, simply trying to make a living and remember what he was before that day. While they were only halfway through with his programming and weren?t able to wipe all emotions, turning him into a slave. They were however successful in wiping his memory.

As of recent however, the organization that built him (he doesn?t even know the name) has made a comeback. They?ve been sending agents now and then to recapture their ?lost property? and finish his programming.

When he heard of the Valiant Light and their journey into the Halo Stars, Jack found himself an escape from his tormentors and a way to earn a reward. Hoping that dropping off the grid for ten years would make his hunters give up.

Personality: Since he hasn?t had much interaction with others, Jack?s personality is still somewhat a blank slate. He?s neutral towards most anything except when on a mission, although if given a reason he could develop emotions.

Are applications for this still open? I've got ideas to add another Eldar and guardsman into the mix, though I might need a bit of info for the latter as I'm not wholly up to date on imperial lore.

Name: Kalgard

Race: Eldar

Age: To my people I am young yet I am old enough to have outlived Mon-keigh such as yourselves several times over.

Gender: Male

Career/Affiliation: My days walking beside my fellow warriors are behind me, for now I walk the path of the outcast but my heart remains unfaltering in the service of my people and the craftworld. Your kind would call me Ranger and I will allow this, for now.

Skills: His time as an outcast has taught Kalgard how to live off the land and to become one with the environment around him, blending into the shadows. Though he had already recieved extensive training and experience in these areas during his time as a warrior with the Striking Scorpions.

These two ways of life have combined to make the art of stealth and ambush second nature to Kalgard. The Scorpions taught him how to become a whirlwind of blades and death in melee and now the path of the outcast, along with his hones senses, has honed his marksmanship skills, doubling Kalgard's ways of bringing silent death.

His travels have also given him a basic knowledge of some savage worlds and the Webway, though Kalgard would not trust himself to lead a group through them alone.

Appearance: Kalgard stands at 6'2 and is physically more powerful and muscular for the average Eldar, his natural stature even more enhanced by his warrior training. Like the rest of his race his ears are pointed and his eyes dark and narrow. His hair is a pale copper colour (he's told the Mon-keigh refer to it as Strawberry Blonde) which he wears in a high tail. His torso has very distinct muscle definition and is laced in feint scars earned through battle and intense training. His skin is the usual flawless, alabaster like, colouring and smoothness that common among his people. Kalgard's face tends to be fixed into an almost permanent scowl. The byproduct of intensely high cheekbones and a seething disdain for almost everyone around him.

Personality: Kalgard is still relatively young by Eldar standards and still full of vigor and passion compared to many others of his kind. He is also a product of his environment, Biel-Tan Craftworld. He is aggressively militant and xenophobic around the 'lesser' races (Mon-keigh), viewing them as usurpers and vermin worthy of extermination. He is only willing to exist alongside the ones on The Valiant Light because they may serve his purpose. There are three things he respects above all others in this life are might, beauty and wisdom. He will begrudgingly admit that a tiny number of the mon-keigh have shown themselves capable of display respectable martial strength, however blunt it might be.

You could also describe him as arrogant, but it is only fitting that an heir of an ancient race should be confident, as befits the Eldar legacy.

Notable Equipment: Rarely seen out of his stark white mesh armour, often worn under a long hooded camo-cloak. His red soul stone is located over his heart. His helmet has a matching white face plate but the rest is the regal green of Biel-Tan.
-He carries a trio of small knives for various survival purposes and a chainsword. Not one from the scorpion shrine but as a weapon of Eldar design it is almost totally silent and is much lighter than its imperial counterpart.
-A shurikan pistol and a ranger longrifle.

Augmetics: None, though he does have the natural psychic affinity that all Eldar posses. He has not trained in the ways of the seer but has learned the mental discipline to keep his warrior instincts in line and to help defend himself so far away from the craftworld.

Bio: As with all Eldar born to Biel-Tan Kalgard was made to walk the path of the warrior before he was allowed to tread any other. Of all the craftworld's many shrines he chose that of Karandras and The Striking Scorpions. Kalgard grew up knowing that his cause was just and beautiful, winter had fallen upon his people and he would lend his strength to help see them through to the spring and the great rebirth of the empire. He honed his blade and mandiblaster guarding the maiden worlds of the eastern fringe from Ork and human incursions. He cut down greenskins and humans with glee as he hunted them through the shadows.

Eventually his time with the shrine came to an end, lest he find himself lost upon the path. It was in this time that Kalgard found himself falling prey to the wanderlust that creeps into all Eldar, along with his own inner darkness. Kalgard had become frustrated with the seers of his craftworld and their holding pattern of stagnant survival. He felt suffocated by the rigidity of the paths and longed to take the fight to his enemies on even grander levels. So he left to wander the stars. Not just for its own sake but to explore the lost places of the empire, in the hopes that he might find new strength that he might bring back to Biel-Tan and return as a hero. He had heard legends of the so called Halo Stars and what treasures and lost secrets they might hold, but if there were ways for Kalgard to find them alone he could not find them. So he has deemed it necessary to slum it with the vermin aboard the Valiant Light, offering his services as a pathfinder and his knowledge of the wilds in exchange for safe passage.

Name: Evangeline "Eva" Straud
Race: Human
Age: 29
Gender: Female

Career/Affiliation: Mercenary and former Cadian Kasrkin

Skills: Advanced guardsman and storm trooper training received on Cadia with focus on speial heavy weapons including the heavy flamer and plasma gun as well as the grenade launcher.
Has also received military endurance training.

Appearance: Eva is a broad and stout woman at around 5'7. She has as much muscle as one would expect of a grenadier, giving her beefier arms than a lot of men she's met. It hasn't helped her greatly with the opposite sex. She has soft, round, features, complete with a button nose. Hardly the most intimidating warface but her full face helmet can do that job for her. She has sandy blonde hair that has recently been allowed to grow so long that she can wear it in a cropped bob, giving Eva a parting for the first time in her life. She's not sure how she feels about it.

Eva always holds herself with proper posture and when not in her armour she prefers to wear her old fatigues. She never feels truly comfortable in anything else. When going into a fight she wears her olive green storm trooper carapace armour that she (along with the rest of her squad) decorated with yellow lightning bolts.

Notable Equipment: Hellgun, 4 charge packs and backpack generator. (wasn't able to keep any grenades)

Augmetics: Minor biological modifications to allow easier movement in heavy gear.

Bio: Eva was born and raised on the fortress world of Cadia and as the old saying goes, she learned to field strip a lasgun before she learned to read. Yes, Eva's youth was a simpler time, a better time. Like many of her peers she served as a whiteshield in the PDF, unlike many of them though she was marked out as a potential Kasrkin. First though, she had to prove herself and earn her stripes. Eva served as a rank and file shock trooper, defending her homeworld and other sectors against chaotic and xenos incursions.

Eventually she earned her verterancy and was given the special training and augmentations needed to join the ranks of Cadia's famed grenadiers. And it was good. She belonged to blessed Cadia and would serve protect her to the death. To join these elite brothers in arms was the greatest honour Eva had ever known. With her squad she found a true home and a great purpose. Nothing good can last though. Eva's fall didn't come from the chaotic taint so many that foght the fell powers found but from something much worse, the bane of all true soldiers... bureaucracy.

While on a mission to disrupt an enemy supply line Eva was seperated from her squad and left stranded behind enemy lines. Left with dwindling supplies, no reinforcements and beset by the vile pawns of chaos she managed to find her way back home to her comrades. It was here Eva learned that she had been pronounced KIA and that all the proper forms had been sent off back to Cadia. She was due to be honored in the fashion of all soldiers who's body could not be recovered. Ridiculous of course but protocol was in place for a reason, as one of the officially dead Eva's regiment couldn't afford to waste any supplies or transport space on her, her commander's hands were tied. She applied to have her deathly status rescinded, even filled in the proper paperwork. Only to learn that it would take several dozen more forms and approximately 157 years to process. Until then she wouldn't be able to return to her unit. The Administratum at its best ladies and gentlemen!

With no home she could legally return to Eva was left to her own devices. Luckily her sergeant managed to sneak her back some of her old gear and her dog tags so she wouldn't be left defenseless. Since then she's earned a living as a gun for hire. Now she's signed up with the Valiant Light, aiming to see more of the galaxy and bring the fight to distant enemies of man... and maybe work out what she's doing with her life.

Personality: Eva is a lifelong solider. More than a solider, a Cadian, a Kasrkin! This is all she's ever been, all she's ever wanted to be. Now people tell her she can't be that any more. Though she still holds herself with all the proper poise and iron certainty of the guard, inside she is lost, rudderless and without purpose. She's always been a follower instead of a leader and tends to look for people to hang onto. She's a little too military for her own good sometimes, often interpenetrating simple suggestions as orders and taking things too seriously. She's still getting used to being a 'civilian' but is going to throw herself at the task of learning to be a regular citizen with all of a storm trooper's zeal! She hopes to find a fresh purpose on this voyage, maybe even a new place to call her own.

Appearance:

Beneath black and white power armor more akin to ancient Terra's knightly orders than the more modern marks by which it has largely become defined in the Imperium of Man, Hulic's pale visage is clean-shaven and relatively youthful for a space marine, his eyes a deep shade of blue and his chin-length hair an explosion of vibrant orange in contrast to the dark ceramite of his wargear during those exceedingly rare moments where his helmet is removed through choice or necessity.

Strangely, Hulic's accoutrements appear free of the vibrant heraldry that unites and honors so many of his brethren regardless of their specific chapters, his armor unadorned save for the silver Imperial Aquila adorning his right pauldron and a crimson tabard hanging about his waist -- even the electrum-cast purity seal attached to his left shoulder plate is blank, leaving any catechisms that had once been inscribed upon the aged scrolls known only to the wearer.

Those who choose - or are forced - to remain in prolonged contact with the brooding warrior are prone to a disquieting level of unease wholly beyond what might be expected of anyone faced with one of the Emperor's grim angels of death, the poorly understood device integrated into his already augmented nervous system being all that prevents Hulic's mere presence from being intolerable or even deadly for those with any measure of psychic sensitivity while activated.

Coupled with the significant degree of secrecy surrounding his origins and motivations, this pervading sense of otherness sets Hulic apart from those who fight alongside him and is usually misinterpreted by allies as a frightening manifestation of the righteous contempt in which he holds both the alien and the witch. Among those he would seek to destroy in battle or otherwise avoid before his status as an Untouchable might be readily discerned, such hatred is often more than mutual.

Bio:

Clad in exceedingly well-crafted warplate befitting a First Company veteran and wielding a relic weapon far too precious to simply be stolen, yet otherwise bearing no distinct markings to confirm his chapter of origin, Hulic's reasons for seeking transport on a rogue trader's vessel are as clandestine as the circumstances that segregated him from his battle-brothers in the first place.

Inwardly zealous yet outwardly taciturn, the urgency of whatever great mission that weighs upon Hulic's armored shoulders is so great that it has left the space marine with the humility to ask - and not demand - a place among the Valiant Light's eclectic crew, and such is his dedication to duty that the wayward Astartes has at least temporarily repressed his deep-seated intolerance of xenos and pyskers alike enough to see unspoken oaths fulfilled.

Personality/Misc:

Aside from the steadfast assertion that he is indeed a loyal champion of the Imperium and seemingly bearing no outward signs of Chaotic influence, Hulic prefers not to speak in specific terms about his history, stating only that martial prowess, not empty boasting, is the manner in which he defines himself in serving the Emperor. Further questioning typically results in redirection and a dangerously tense demeanor tempered only by his attention being focused towards distant goals.

Privately, Hulic fears the unconventional methods he has been forced to employ will forever separate him from the mysterious chapter he hopes his actions will serve to ultimately vindicate, although whatever quest that drives him has for the most part superseded such selfish concerns. Isolated from his brethren and driven onward by the desire to honor the memory of those that he now travels without, Hulic's solemn nature is borne of willful sacrifice for a greater cause.

Sorry about the delay on the game everyone, some stuff has happened on my end. The Game Thread should be opened tonight.

As for the Sign Up. The Sign Up will remain open until the ship in the game thread leaves the final port to begin its journey into the Halo Stars.

One more thing. The amount of people in this RP is huge. If for some reason I forget you along the way, apologies. Just let me know that it's happened and I'll do what I can to fix it.

Career/ Affiliation: A Kroot Hound Master.

Skills: Tracking, hunting, hiding, sneaking, can read books in different languages.

Appearance:
Cha'Chak stands over 9 feet tall with a tall strong slender build. With piercing Forest Green eyes. Having long sharp spines coming down from the base of her skull with smaller spines going down the back of her legs. Hunched over she stands at a 8 foot 7 inches, losing a foot in height. Looking malnourished she is still strong enough to fight off anything.
Having her flat chest wrapped in cloth as well as her hips and thighs. Shoulders brandished with leather bound hound skulls from the hounds she has lost over the years.The spines on her cranium are long and bound in leather. With a more reptile like jaw than her Kroot cousins that have birdlike beaks.

The only armor that Cha'Chak wears is the leather bound skulls from her fallen hounds.
Having leather leashes and a Rifle staff that Cha'Chak barely uses for she depends on her hounds more.
Having a small pack of hounds, she keeps one particularly close. His name is Khauch. Being inseparable Khauch goes everywhere with Cha'Chak.
Wears a hooded cloak when she is outside in the sun, for her delicate white-green leathery skin is easily harmed by the harsh sunlight.

Augmetics: Heightened senses, due to living with Cha'Chak's hounds most of her life.

Bio:
Khauch was the runt if the litter that was being breed for hounding when Cha'Chak was but a small one. They were going to kill Khauch but Cha'Chak wouldnt let them. Taking Khauch into her pack she kept him pretty close and become inseparable companions to this day. Learning to read from different areas, over the years Cha'Chak is able to understand many languages and speak partly of some. Cha'Chak is very attached to her hounds,the pack and Khauch will be by her side protecting her aboard the ship.

Personality: Cha'Chak is very quiet and listens well. Isn't angered easily and very strategic.

Attention everybody. After my absence yesterday and seeing how things have moved since then, I have determined that if I don't put a lid on this now at the rate it's moving (on all fronts) I'm going to lose control and the game is going to run itself into the ground.

This means that for the sake of the game I'm going to stop letting people in freely for now. Once I feel the game has stabilized to a point that new people may join I will begin letting batches of characters in. Characters acquired this way will be examined on a case by case basis and I will ask that they are PM'd to me before they are posted in this thread.

Apologies to anyone who has yet to submit and had wanted to.
