Starcraft 2 story was pretty good. Everything was nice and dandy all the way to the end of the game.

Unfortunately the ending was pretty weak, short and confusing, since they supposedly killed one of the major characters. But lets face it, why would Blizzard introduce Tycus, a new character which wasn't present in the original game, just to get him killed.

I suppose I should have added a poll to this thread, but it seems like people are divided on how much they enjoyed the campaign.

Warcraft 3 - go play, now.

I hope you've not watched the ending, though.
Add it to the list of games I need to play before I die! I haven't seen the ending though.. so I might get to it. Especially if I continue living far away from my consoles.

I also have not even played Diablo 2.. trying to decide whether to pick it up cheap or just wait for Diablo 3. I heard the fun is in playing with friends, right?

I thought the campaign story was pretty good. Up until the third act where it crashed and burned in the most spectacular plot collapse I've ever seen.

I liked the various missions where you do X thing and get Y credits in each subplot, picking up a new unit each time. It was a nice way of introducing strategy and abilities a piece at a time and fit in with you as Rebel Leader gradually pulling together a decent military.

Where things went wrong was Tychus. So, okay, Raynor knows that he's getting orders and has a bomb in his suit? Why doesn't Jim do anything to help, or at least put him out of the way? So Mengsk is the mysterious order-giver, and yet lets his puppet go on a mechanized rampage in the middle of his capital city and start up a revolution (via secret-spilling broadcast) that could throw him from his throne all on the incredible off-chance that somehow Tychus and Kerrigan will meet up in circumstances that would allow the former to kill the latter? That's pretty far-fetched especially when Tychus spends half the game standing right next to Arcturus's mortal archenemy and Most Wanted Rebel Jim Raynor.

I kept thinking that Mr. Mystery Voice would belong to some yet-to-be-revealed player that would make an appearance in the sequel. Maybe someone from Earth. I was really hoping to see more of Tychus's wit and wisdom.
