Very, veeery touchy, most of what you've asked has been answered, but from my point of view abortion is the woman's choice, I don't count it as a human until upper brain activity starts. But as an overall rule of thumb, always disagree/ignore those who seek to force their oppinions such as fundamentalists.

Fun fact: it is predominantly men who are pro-life.
I always found that interesting.
Personally, I think the initiation for a male pro-lifer should be spending months carrying a weighted ball strapped to their stomach, with hormone injections to give them mood swings like a boss. Then at the end, they should have to pass out kidney stones through the urethra.

I say this as a guy, with a particularly strong personal emphasis on "don't mess with a guy's junk!"

I once saw a post on Facebook that asked a rather deep question on the subject.

I brought up how people will freak out with so much joy if they find even the slightest sign of some kind of microbe on another planet and declare it as life. Then, it asked why a living, breathing child inside their mother's womb would not be considered life at all?
Life on earth is nothing special. Life somewhere else is.
^Most depressing post I've read all day.

Do we get a baby at the end? I'd do it if I got the baby.

You may adopt a child, or infantile pet of your choice.

So, why don't more people talk about abortions? Its something that I just never hear discussed.

Aside from the political issues, women's reproductive health in general is not a popular topic for conservation (since it's a combination of sex + medical + female-specific).

Are they a big deal? Ive heard they cause depression, is that true?

I wondered this at one point, and the women I talked to said that it was no big deal, as far as medical procedure. All these women had early term abortions (in the first trimester when the spawn is called a zygote, not a fetus).

Why don't more women have abortions when they don't want a baby?
They seem relatively common in areas I've lived in on the west coast, what makes you think they're uncommon?

Whats the process? Not so much the operation, but going from "I dont want a baby", to actually having the abortion.

Good question, I have no idea.
