A game of $120,000,000. Would you be selfish or a savior?

Well i think i'd play because i'm quite good at strategy games, and in a way this is power to the people, and even if i die by not coming first (if that's what you meant by all losers killed) it would still be worth it. For the greater good.

A couple questions before i delve too deep into it. Is there any way to have your balance increased? By for example investing in exports for your country? You perhaps get a royalty fee or whatever you call it from what you gain for your country? Also, when you say abstract things, could i spend for example all of it apart from 1 dollar on giving the current leader of my country all the power, knowledge, good will and charisma a man could possibly have, which would mean he could not only inspire the country itself but other world leaders to for example cancel the debts or invest heavily in an international space colonization program. That would be my bet anyways, if it's an option and the cost isn't too high.

On separate "purchases" can you adjust 'intensity'? Like in my example could i adjust the amount of money i put in to vary how much effect it would have on this man?

Interesting game by the way. I think i've seen something similar before, probably on Newgrounds.

Edit : You people are looking at it wrong. It's hypothetical money here. Abstract purchases don't have set values. Unless i just completely misunderstood i do believe not everyone is reading the OP.

The only way to win a game like this is not to play, because who's to say that, say, my decision to hire a harem of girls who act as my domestic servants and sexual playthings while my money puts them through college would not ultimately contribute to the good of the nation by providing a slew of college-educated women to the workforce?

Or, by the same token, the Shawn Kemp/Evander Holyfield-like gaggle of children I would sire by those women could grow up to be the leaders and power brokers of tomorrow. Selfish need not be completely without socially redeeming value. But the Dark Brotherhood fellow would kill me regardless.
It's why good/bad are such silly terms, because most of the world deals in varying shades of gray.

I'd probably use the money on video games, to be honest. Then, I'd stick it in multiple banks, hire a bunch of bodyguards, train myself in several martial arts, and wait for the assassin to come. :)

That is just the plot of Eden of the East. Word for word. If you're going to do something like this, don't pretend you came up with the moral question.
I was WONDERING if someone would notice. :) Good job catching on. Quite honestly, I think it's an interesting question to ask of people, regardless of the original context. I didn't really think there would be many anime watchers in this thread. Heh.

I would pay for the right to know the identity of this games organizer/benefactor and use my remaining funds(if any) to acquire the means to have a "chat" with him. We'll see how things go from there.

Why the hell would I play a game that has a huge risk of death with no payoff for me of any kind?

You can invest the money through the concierge, yes. And you could spend the money on something like your example of improving the current leader. That's exactly what I mean by an abstract request.

Adjusting intensity is also possible.

Ah, you beat me to it. Shame on you OP.

I'd actually do something cool with the cellphone and quit whining about my lost memories. Perhaps it would make things more interesting for spectators, and maybe they wouldn't want to punch me.
Granted, you probably would have your memories at the beginning, unless you were in Akira's boat. :p

Technically, by spending all that money on myself, I will have single handedly stimulated the entire US economy.

But really, how can I have (or spend!)that much money without somehow damaging the world economy? Something ain't right here.

It's from a very rich individual's private savings to begin with.

I would probably just by my own research institute and hire the greatest minds of all time then work on a new energy source for the world. While also making sure that i get royalties from every power company that will supply new source of energy.

I win and get more money problem solved

I would have the concierge give the money and cellphone to the person most able and willing to improve the state of my nation.

Do I win?

i'd remake LoZ: Majora's Mask and then distribute it for free via interwebs to avoid getting sued.

I would donate $10,000,000 to Susan G. Komen for the cure.
I would then use $50,000,000 to build myself a nice big house.
I would then use the last $60,000,000 to train myself to be an expert assassin to fight off and kill the assassin that would be sent to kill me. HA! beat that.

Oh I laughed at that xD.

I would spend all my money on things I need/want, give the rest to my country to spend on crap (they fuck up not my problem), the rest I'll buy 50 professional bodyguards to protect me for life.

Besides that, I'd decline because there's an 7/8th chance you'll die. Who would play that game? Probably a Marty/Saint but no one here is either!

And can I add that it's insanely unfair for some countries with Yen and *cough*NZ dollars*cough* as it is really low compared to US/Pound.

I'd ask the concierge to move all of the money into my account. Then take it from there. Now I just need to actually make some slight improvement to the country and i'm golden.

I would definitely legalise marijuana.
