Hey everybody
what game shot your heart? A game that just pounded its way into your heart and stays there until today?
For me I would say 2 games and series
First game: Shadow of Memories: This game totally knocked me over, I really didn´t know what it was about. Then I found out it was about cheating death and a really intersting plot in my opinion albeit a bit confusing hehe :D
Second game: Project Zero (Fatal Frame): I loved and still love this game for being so damn scary and being the gaming imbodyment of Japanese horror
Third: The Ace Combat series: I don´t know why but this game series just nailed it for me, I loved flying around and I love the stories in it as well and I think that I most of the games you actually connect with your fellow aces even your enemies (Ohh Sundred skies how I loved thee)

How about you guys and girls?

Kingdom Under Fire: Crusaders and KuF: Heroes. I loved these games inside and out. It's action and strategy elements blended together very efficiently and the characters had much depth. The story is a bit unorthodox , but I like stories like that. Also, the big twist near the end of Crusaders took me by total surprise.

Not so much to the heart but one game where I really felt bad for the main character was Dead Space with Isaac. Sure he had no emotions but that let me fill in the blanks when it came to his character. The only reason I felt so bad was how everything went from bad to worse. Murphy's Law has never been so prevalent in a game. I know it happens in other games but maybe just the fact something happened every single level intensified the feeling.

Edit: That?s based on emotional level. I misunderstood the question. I?ll have to get back to you with my real answer xP

Lost Odyssey - If you actually take the time to read the dream sequences you end up feeling amazingly sorry for Kaim and the other immortals. Sad, sad stuff.

Oh, and Wind Waker, Majora's Mask and every Smash Bros. game.
But mostly Mother 3. And EarthBound. But Mother 3 more.
Did I mention Mother 3?

The first KH where Kairi and Sora are on that little spit of land, finally reunited, but suddenly things start going to hell and they break apart.

Sora: I'll find you!
Kairi: I know you will!
Me: *bawls* YOU CAN'T DO THAT TO THEM!

Also the ending scene of FFX where Yuna runs towards Tidus but he's already fading and so she runs right through him and collapses on the deck of the ship. That really got to me, as well as Auron walking off during Yuna's final Sending, while his theme plays and he fades away.

Lastly ... the last scene of FF9 where Zidane surprises Garnet by being the cloaked figure in the play. It was girly and probably seen from a mile away, but it made me tear up. I was so happy for them. XD;;

the entire Zelda series, from its roots with the gameboy and NES, up to twilight princess.

Another one which shot straight to my keepsakes is the Fire Emblem series. My favourite being path of radiance.

Well this might sound weird and I only bring it up because I've never heard someone agree with me, but I got fairly wrapped up in World in Conflict's story. Not much at all compared to some really emotional games, but much more than I expected from an RTS. The cinematics were well done, and the banter between characters does a lot to develop the characters, their relationships to eachother, and their goals and motivations. And I was surprised by the suspense and tension I felt around the climax of the campaign, the last mission, along with the characters. Which is why I'm looking forward to Soviet Assault so much, to show the Soviet perspective to the war.

Donkey Kong Country. It was the first game I ever beat.

Metroid Fusion. I'll go ahead and spoil the ending anyway. All through the game Samus is recounting her old CO, a guy named Adam. When everything gets really desperate near the end Samus is desperately pleading with the space stations computer to open the locked doors so she can go fight the SA-X. Finally she gets through to the computer and it calls her "Lady", just what Adam used to call her. It turns out that it was Adam all along, his consciousness had been downloaded into the computer. Plus some little furry creatures help Samus escape from the station before it crahses into SR388.

Metal Gear Solid 4 when Snake meets Eva and then sees her die. Then later when Naomi dies and on Outer Haven when Snake is going through the microwave room, his determination really showed. Plus when Snake reconciled with Big Boss.

I'm a huge sap.

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

These games really hit me hard, but the all time best has to be the Metal Gear Solid series. Honestly i could write a short story on all the excellency these games have. i really could, but i won't, because words can't describe this game. it must be played.

I seriously have to second that... just started playing (an of course, entirely legal *looks round shiftily*) copy of it. How can the game have you so emotionally attached to the main characters within just the first chapter?!
