I just came across enough money to buy a new game and was wondering what I should get. I have both an Xbox 360 and PS3. My computer is mediocre, so nothing for that.

Do you have a PS2? Shadow of the Colossus is AMAZING. The colossi (the only enemies in the game, and bosses at that) are so large that some of the game's environments are based solely around their bodies. And the graphics are best described as Scenery Porn. Absolutely gorgeous, even in standard definition.

Hell, the game's getting a PS3 re-release in a few months, bundled with its spiritual predecessor, ICO. I say wait for it or buy the original. Can't go wrong in my opinion.

Why not buy me a game? Only joking. On topic I think a good game would be Morrowind GOTY Edition for old Xbox. Its backwards compatible, I've checked. If you do decide on that good luck finding it.

I don't know, there are so many good games. Not much to go on. What sort of games do you like? What do you like the look of?
I'm pretty diverse in my interests of games. As long as it isn't a racing game since the only racing games I've ever liked are Burnout 3, Crash Tag Team Racing, and Mario Kart.

As long as the game is solid, I'm happy.

Skyrim.

Save for it.

You won't need to buy a new game for a while.

Or you could just, you know, save your money for something bigger than a game.
I'm already saving for Skyrim. This is just a game to play right now. The only other thing I'm spending money on right now is 40k and I have too many models to build right now, so I wanted to get a new game.

I've heard of Darksiders, but what is good about it?

Have you tried Dead Rising? (fun, repetitive, sandbox zombie dodging with multiple objectives / endings. Bad graphics, but who cares about graphics when you have 100s of zombies?). Ninja Gaiden 2 is pretty solid (and difficult) hack and slash. Obviously if you don't own the Orange box you should.

He will if the game is completely broken.
I rented LA Noir and it's fun for a little while but not worth buying.
Portal 2 is fun and will get a bunch of free dlc. I would go with that.

OP Since you're into 40K, you should wait for Space Marine. It looks pretty sick. Or pick something out of the bargain bin while you wait.

Agreed here :p
Definitely get your hands on Dead Rising and then DR2 if you haven't already OP. They're absolute gems (The first one more so in my opinion). Hours of fun for a pretty low price now that they've both been out for a while.

But yeah, me not knowing many PS3/XBox360 titles, I'm gonna have to say CTR off the PSX Classics thingy. I can't imagine it's more than about 10 bucks and it's a bloody awesome game :>

thats the story essentially, its got fantastic art direction, its gameplay is pretty similar to zelda, with combat reminiscent of devil may cry, I enjoyed the hell out of it

What have you played? Demon's Souls? Valkyria Chronicles? Bayonetta (oh and get the 360 version of this if you do get it)?

Just to give you the other end of the spectrum, I found Darksiders average at best. Sure, the dungeons are alright. But the combat I found boring and much more stiff than the action games it is influenced by. It is a decently long game, so at about $20 bucks it's probably still worth it, but the entire time I played through it (and I did play it to completion) I wasn't really having fun with it. It's solid, I guess, but with so many games this generation that are more than solid, I don't think it's worth the time or money.

Now with that unpopular opinion out of the way...

To reinforce the recommendations of other people in the thread, Borderlands and the Fallout games are all excellent FPS/RPGs. Action-wise, Ninja Gaiden 2 and Bayonetta are both very fun.
