I know its an odd idea to think that there could even be any shooters on the DS. But they're there. And I'm thinking of getting a new one. I don't have Wi-Fi, so I'd rather not be stuck with the subpar single player of MP: Hunters and the bot matches with it. Any solid single player shooters on the DS? I tried Moon, but was underwhelmed, too.

Truthfully there aren't none if you're really desperate there's a James bond game but it's not that good

Well, I think one of the things about enjoying shooters on the DS is not expecting them to be like an Xbox 360 game. Different system, different stuff it can do. Dementium: The Ward was a personal favorite of mine but it's odd. Enemies respawn and staying alive can get tough, that bugs a lot of people.

I would say that if you wanted to play an FPS I'd advise just getting a console or a good PC.

Metroid I thought was quite good though when I played the demo.

I am the king of enjoying games that are underrated. Long live Earth Defense Force 2017! i'll check it out. Does it have cheap startle scares? Or just enviromental scares?

I do. But I want to shoot things on the go, without lugging around my heavier and more fragile PSP.

Metroid Hunters is the best portable FPS game you can get. Controls are fluent, and the online is at least decent if you have a good connection, though I have not played it in two years. But since you don't have wi-fi, the single player in Hunters is still quite good, and you still have p2p DS matches.

MP: Hunters is probably the best.

CoD4 and Cod:WaW both have DS ports, if you can get them cheap they might be worth a punt.

Ah, well...The single player wasn't THAT bad I guess. I'll pick it up again...I'll use the face buttons to aim so that I don't get wrist pain.

I honestly hate PsP with all my heart and soul ^^ it was just something For sony to feed us while imminently putting off Ps3's release...And its shooters all suck anyway, if you want a ds shooter, id say just get an xbox, a Ps3, or a PC, but if you really jjust want one for the ds, go for a COD, theyre not bad, and pretty cheap.

Dude, if it bumps against a pillow, I have to check and make sure it still reads discs. It also wasn't reading any discs a few days ago. Now it is...Somehow.

Why would you play a shooter on a DS?

Why?

The truth is, there aren't any. The DS just isn't built for shooters.

...there have been at least 5 mentioned before you posted.

And Metroid is probably still your best shot

Well, that's what I'll go with then. Thanks everyone...It seem unanimous. I'd get the DS CoD games if I hadn't had more than my fill of them on the 360.
