Been reading this forum for a long time and it's by far the best (there's the flattery out of the way) so I've decided to post my dilemma here.

I LOVE PvP, there's nothing better than killing people (in games obviously...) but nothing i have is keeping me interested, i need the help of you good people in finding a game that will suit my tastes before I'm overwhelmed with boredom.

I'll explain a bit about my tastes to give you an idea of what I'm looking for.

I hate modern FPS, games like Call of Duty and Battlefield 4 just frustrate me to the point where i need to stop playing, i hate being shot in the back and there being nothing i could have done. I also dislike being screwed because it was two versus one, I play tribes ascend regularly ,and if someone doesn't pull out an automatic weapon (scumbag's, all of you) i can *usually* take on two or sometimes 3 people if I'm better than them, you just CAN'T do that in modern FPS nowadays.

I'm not a team person, I don't mind losing, but it bugs the hell out of me when we're losing because the team I'm on are too busy farming kills or just don't know what they're doing. It makes me sound like a sore loser but if it's a close fight and we lose i love it, but getting stomped for 20 minutes just isn't fun, i need a game where i play solo, or i can influence the game solo (destroying generators on Planetside 2 for instance).

I also love games like DayZ, especially breaking point the ArmA 3 varient. I also like battle royale for ArmA 3 which for those of you who don't know, it's basically the Hunger Games: video game edition. I always play solo when not with friends on these games because i like hunting people, nothing better than hunting someone for a good long while then finally killing them. I know these types of games contradict with my hate of modern FPS, but the solo aspect and the realism(ish) help to counter the problem i have with most of them.

I've played League and DOTA 2, but like all MOBA's there's too much teamwork, not to mention the vitriol. Tribes ascend was the game i was most addicted too, the pure skill of the projectile weapons was amazing, until the game died. I have over 250 odd hours on Planetside 2, i used to love running around in the enemy base sabotaging everything, for my faction to then come in and stomp them, but the only class i enjoy in that game is also completely pointless.

Thats pretty much it to be honest, if you need more information just ask. I NEED some PvP, i spend most of my time looking through all my games trying to find one i can bring myself to play, I NEED YO HALP!

TL,DR: I need a high skill PvP game to get addicted to.

For me solo its honestly CoD cause its a game where one skilled person can carry the team. Halos kinda the same way, give me a dmr and I'll headshot my team to victory, stopped playing that though cause 30 fps is annoying.

I only own a PC unfortunately, gave my 360 away, tempted to steal it back though, god damn do i miss Ninja Gaiden.

I can play call of duty, it's one of the few games that actually annoys me to a noticeable reaction.

Try out any of the souls games. Obviously Dark Souls 2 will have the most active community at this point.

OP, build a middle tier PC and get your hands on Mount And Blade: Warband.

The graphics are not intensive, but what's more it's one of the most realistic Medieval combat simulators out there. The combat is simple, easy as shit to learn, but very very difficult to master, making it very taxing on your thought process as a player.

It's exhilarating and suspensful, just in the act of two dudes walking up to eachother. There's Duel servers which are built on 1v1 combat.

Don't even get me started on the Singleplayer content. 140 hours I've clocked in just the singleplayer and I barely make any progress toward conquering the entire map. Only two people on record have ever gotten the achievment for fully conquering the map without cheats.

Counterstrike fixes the problems you have with CoD and Battlefield.

The maps are small and round based, so if anyone's behind you it's cause you let them flank you, not by lucky spawns. Also, taking on multiple people on your own (clutch or kick) is definitely possible, due to the fact that most weapons are a 1 or 2 shot headshot and the ridiculously high skill ceiling behind gunplay. Seriously, the counterstrike gunplay is fucking HARD, but it has almost no skill cap. There's always a way to be better than your opponent.

It is a 5v5 game like Dota, but it's based a lot more on personal rather than team skill (though you still gotta work as a damn team).

Here's a demonstration of some of the skill based shit you can do in cs

I've sunk hundreds of hours into dark souls 1 and 2 and love the pvp, unfortunately its incredibly laggy (DS1 especially) and i can't play it for long without losing interest.

I have counterstrike too but again, i lose interest after a while.

I LOVE dead or alive series, are there any fighters like DOA on PC? i have injustice but i dislike the combat style, it feels clunky and rooted, whereas dead or alive has a lot more mobility and flow imo.

also, does anyone own gears of war for PC and if so does anyone still play it? gears of war 1 was my third most played game in history, if that has a population on PC I'd love to get it.

Thanks for all the replies everyone.
