I have been thinking latley that Star Wars has not realeased any good game since Battlefront 2.
So I think they need to make a game that takes place completly on Corucent. It should be a sandbox game where you can customize your character to be a variety of species and the story should be completly under your control. you start off from the slummy alleys and go wherever you want from there. you could be a force adept, a bounty hunter, a drug dealer, street urchin. or any thing else and it should be big like extremly big. Think of your first trip to the citadel on Mass Effect but times a millon and with several changes. You could spend hours on end playing it the setting could be from the Clone Wars all the way thorugh episode 6 and you can meet several key figures if you wantand maybe a very loose story that grows slowly around you until you end up emersed in it with out realizing it.

The potential is huge but what is your opinion?

9 times out of 10 whenever someone claims their idea is "good" it isn't - this is no exception. If you want people to take your idea seriously I suggest writing an 800 - 1000 word document on the subject - this explanation just isn't good enough.

The problem with a big game is that it usually either takes too long, is too expensive or everything is done... badly.

The idea of a huge Star Wars game with choices like that is great but i fear it will never happen because the Star Wars franchise prefers to (in recent times) spend a small amount of money and time on the game and more on the advertising... hoping to make a good profit.
If they aimed a game at a more hardcore gaming audience who wanted more than just cliche jar jar biggs speech, I'm sure they could do well with a game like you described.

I just dont see it happening.

Focus more on plot than setting. In my opinion, there is no need to make a game setting anywhere from episode 1 to 6. I'd prefer games that focus outside that region.

Still, the key thing to any good game is the writing, which means plot and characters. The setting is already there (which is all you described) and the gameplay mechanics should attempt to mesh with the story as it's told. A completely open game is likely unnecessary or even detrimental to a Star Wars setting game since it can distract from the plot, and Star Wars has always been about drama (at least, the good Star Wars flicks, books, and RPGs).

Well I could make a huge freaking doucument about to describe the game but that would take a really long time.
Oh and the first step to this idea is the removal of George Lucas so that someone who wants to make money and still care about Star Wars will be in charge. Lucas is already rich, his only idea is to control everything Star Wars related, spend the least amount of money and still expect to earn more money.

Well I mentioned Mass Effect and I was thinking in terms of story, character and side missions to be of a similar style. By loose story I just meant that it can be diverse and depending on who you would be could take several diffrent turns. I find that writing and story are the most important part of a game but one of the keys to my idea is the setting being so diffrent. the reason for the timeline of the game would be because I have read all the Star Wars books, as well as other types of media and looking at the history of Coruscant the time I selected would be best.
