Look at that, another person talking out of their ass and being a condescending jerk. I vaguely remember you, but I do not care.

@CriticalGaming, do yourself and everyone a favor, and stop sucking Joe rogan's dick? I just saw you goal posting again

Oh it would certainly not apply exclusively to this forum no.

The reason I might direct it towards this forum is probably because I've been wanting to go into some of this for months now, but for some reason or another, chose instead not to get involved. And as Agema so aptly alluded to, I tend to offer rather infrequent, "driveby" input.

That's definitely a matter of momentum. Once you're sucked in, it's easy enough to keep pace, but when I'm not in any of the arguments, I look at every comment through the lens of "is that how I want to spend like 40 hours of my time?"

And now you know why I mostly post tweets.

Oh piss off. I sincerely doubt you even remember me at all, let alone have any idea where I stand on anything.
Don't remember you. I'm basing that on your last 2 posts, which are enough.

That is hilariously... 1:1 what I was anticipating would be the case. So what, I don't "keep my trap shut" based on two of 10-20 posts I've made in the entirety of the past year? Remind me if I've already accused you of being disingenuous.

That, and the psychological investment.

Understandably. I'll have to admit, there's been times I've almost just wanted to copy and paste some entire posts or whatever from other places I frequently read/visit. Just because of how little patience I expect my patience will run to try and convey the some of the same sentiment.

Well, if it only takes one or two posts to pointlessly snipe and antagonise without contributing anything, then yeah, it's two too many.

You really don't see parallels between people saying potential treatments are horse pills, fish tank cleaner, or bleach injection and people saying vaccines contain mercury so they're poisonous...
When will conservatives stop using insults against inanimate objects as an insult to them personally?

I'm just always assumed you picked your name based on Enders Game. Which makes tracking you a lot easier

Man, people have WAY higher impressions of Reuters than I ever expected.

Like, I understand people ignoring their clear political bias but... they get lots of things incorrect. As to international stories... look, I'll give you that its better than most American media. I DO NOT think this says anything because American media stories on International subjects are worse than Rogan's take on vaccines.

Reuters is biased in that it is essentially unchallenging towards the economic and societal structures of the Western world in which it (primarily) operates.

That's fine for what it is. You don't go there expecting long-term critical analyses of policy. You go there for event reporting. And on that count, its more reliable and also more even-handed than the vast majority of news outlets. It tends to pursue relatively neutral and objective language, and doesn't tend to shill for particular candidates or policies.

I've had to pick Vox retelling over some events of Reuters. Vox for fucks sake's (also, emphasis sometimes.) But I do recognise that this has way more to do with your first sentence and how that bias colours Reuters retelling of events

I don't know if that's true. I think he had the stance because he took Ivermectin when he got Covid and he recovered from Covid in only a couple days. I don't know if ivermectin really helped him that much because Rogan is in INSANE shape physically and is a health nut so his own health probably did a lot of the heavy lifting in kicking Covid. But he was very open about not only taking the drug but taking it because his doctor perscribed it. Then the media (especially CNN who hates him for some reason) dogpiled on him. To the point where he had the "Doctor" from CNN on his not eshow and he called his ass out. The doctor had no good comebacks or defense, because both Rogan and the doctor knew it was a smear campaign. Then that fucking doctor went back to CNN and they continued to talk shit about Rogan like nothing happened.
So, a friend of mine, in her 30s, is way fitter and healthier than me. Always has been. (She runs a various sporting complex, amongst other things.) Hardly touched drugs, even alcohol. She went out to a New Year's Party and is still in bed from COVID, getting pumped full of steroids. (She also not included in hospitalisation reports as she's still at home.)

Like, being healthy COULD help (even likely.) I also COULD use this anecdote saying that it's not true.

Now, the doctor thing is true. Rogan did get proscribed. From particular doctors who just give you a drug cocktail. Most doctors aren't like that so now we have people punching doctors for not proscribing Ivermectin. Because they think its ethically irresponsible to give unnecessary drugs. Others just took it from vets and self medicated.

Do I think that Rogan is as bad of an influence as Bret Weinstein? Nope. I think Bret dosing himself on camera is fucking appalling. I'm also not going to give Bret a second chance on this stuff. I AM giving Rogan a second chance. But... a second chance means there's an expectation that he's going to be more responsible. If he thinks that means he shouldn't do mainly right wing guest.... sure... at least he's attempting something even if I think that wont help

(And, Rogan on his twentieth chance by now. Because he keeps hopefully unintentionally attacking people over many years causing a lot of damage. This is just the most recent event.)

A lot of people got the vaccine and got it pretty damn quickly. At this point we are 75%ish percent fully vaccination and it has done fuck all for the spread of covid. That is what people are upset about, and why many aren't getting the vaccine. Remember when vaccination meant no more masks? Now we need even BETTER masks, AND be vaccinated. But you can still go to a restaurant and not wear a mask at the table? Because covid doesn't get you when you are eat, that's a rule.

Everything around this pandemic has been a fucking shitshow of bullshit and shitty politicians not doing their part to make people understand and curb this.

People like Rogan probably didn't help. But he is far from the only source of bullshit that has prolonged this garbage.
I don't know what to tell you, man. Wherever you got your info was completely wrong. Or more likely you read that slowing the virus (which it has done) means stopping it. Your complaining about science change its advice when new data comes in. Like... I actually don't know what to tell you expect maybe find out what science means. I would be EXTERMELY worried if advice from scientist never changed because that means they are failing.

Those people who aren't having the vaccine were never going to have the vaccine. They were told it was bad WELL before this current event. They had already made their mind up. They want a security blanket to tell them its okay and there is nothing available

As to shitty politicians, I wouldn't just blame them. There is a lot to go around. Many of them I would no longer give them a second chance like I'm giving Rogan

Oh come now, your original and unedited post, while maybe sharp, was absolutely fair and accurate.

Although I guess if you were trying to tone down the harshness, then I really should too. Especially given how at least some of my aggressive tone was due to some personal baggage in relation to this place. Baggage which I wouldn't expect anyone here to have anything close to a clue about since I've kept most of it to myself.

I'm just always assumed you picked your name based on Enders Game. Which makes tracking you a lot easier
Aye, tis fairly obvious. And I'm aware of how easy it would be to crosscheck other comments I've made, although I admit I'm a little confused at what you're specifically trying to get at here.
