As there are 3 playable characters do you think you will be able to utilise all 3 in free roam as you would in the campaign. For example if i was playing as Micheal in free roam and I happen to get into a trouble with the police. Do you think i could call trevor and franklin to come help me out. Then i can utilise all 3 characters when battling the police

I know that chances are noone will know the answer but its still a good discussion point

Interesting question, I don't see why not, but who knows if R* has implemented this feature.

Not to hijack your thread at all, but I have a somewhat similar question that I haven't seen covered in any previews. They've already mentioned that you can now carry ALL weapons, no more worrying about having only one melee weapon, one submachine gun, etc. But I was wondering if your weapon/ammo inventory will be shared between all three characters during free roam or if they will each have their own inventory. i.e. am I going to have to collect all the guns and ammo for each character separately or only once?

It would be foolish of them if they didnt consider this, perhaps if i individually sent all my characters to the same location and got individual wanted levels then they just chop and change characters. id like to think there is some sort of "follow me" or "go to location X" command like most character switching games

thats an equally good question. i would hope that weapons and ammo are shared but you never know. if rockstar want to keep the characters individual then i can see it being the other way round. For example with trevor you might want a bayonet as an attachment (just a made up example) whereas with franklin you might want to fit a scope to the same weapon and micheal would want a silencer. that way they all have the same gun but it means you can use different character for specific tasks

I could have sworn I saw that exact feature mentioned in one of the big narrated trailers. The camera panned way out and then back in on a different character.

I'd imagine the characters have separate weapons as there is a degree to weapon customization this time around. There may be a way to trade guns between them though.

Most likely.

They showed that "Titan" plane taking off in the hangar, basically a C130 cargo plane. In another trailer, what looked like a cutscene, you see one of them drive a car out of the cargo bay in mid-air.

So, theoretically, you could position Michael in an open field -- have Trevor hijack a Titan plane, open the cargo bay - switch to Franklin and drive a lawnmower (yes there are lawnmowers) inside -- switch to Trevor & take off -- switch back to Franklin and drive the lawnmower right out of the plane at 20,000ft in the air -- finally switch back to Michael and watch your crazy friend ride a lawnmower into the ground.

I hope it works like that. Titan mechanics permitting :p

Considering you can switch on the fly, I don't see why not? As the system has been described, you could do this. In missions you can switch on the fly, even in a helicopter between Trevor piloting, or Michael and Franklin gunning from the side doors; it was in the IGN preview.

Yes.
When IGN did their hands on with the game, they mentioned the switching between characters in free roam and how they are always doing something of free will. They said that they switched to Trevor once and he was in the middle of a police chase.
In missions it's a little less free. You can only switch between certain characters if they are on a mission together, and some switching is scripted. It's still a a bit free though.
For example they did a mission with Trevor and Micheal and as one character completes one action, the player then switched to the other to perform another action.
