Eh, it's a bad idea that's targeted at the right audience. I get the feeling Beiber is knowingly whoring himself to get as much out of this as he can before the inevitable crash and burn, but there's nothing I can do about other than not support it myself.

...why does she spin!?
I'm trying to hypnotize the world so that I may rule Earth!
Diabolical! That's just exploitive!

Like the Beiber movie (see, still on topic!).

Story of the day:
I heard the sound of some girl singing a crappy song from an iPod yesterday... I assumed it was katy perry or some other bollocks and ignored it for a while. Then a friend pointed out that it was Justin Bieber and I genuinely thought he must be taking the piss; there is no way a 16 year old guy can sound that feminine.

I was mistaken :/

OT: A Justin Bieber movie sounds like an amazingly bad idea. What the fuck could they actually put into a movie about him? His hairstyle has been copied by/from every boyband ever and he got a bottle thrown at him o_O so what? THAT WOULD BE THE WHOLE FILM. All Im saying is that it would be an hour or so of your life you'd never get back...

People think it's cool to hate on a kid they have never listened to.

I hate him - but at least I've heard his stuff :p
You have no basis for suggesting that they haven't listened to him. Please don't make assumptions on the basis that you're right.
Who's 'they'?
Who's 'people'?...
Those that rag on him without having heard a single song of his, maybe?
No, I'm afraid that was in fact - a rhetorical question.
Well songs called things like 'baby baby' are going to be generic mass produced bull aren't they? If you listen to it you will almost certainly hate it and if you don't then you should consider seeing a doctor- so you might as well save yourself the time and effort.

Incidentally: Yes I have listened to some of his songs. More accurately, I was unlucky enough to overhear them. In my opinion hating on Justin Bieber is always completely justified, even when the hater in question is just falsifying things so that they can generate more hate.
If I got a chance I would sacrifice Bieber to satan in return for a musician like Dio or Dimebag or the Rev...

And your point? He's extremely popular right now.
The thing is have you met anyone who does like him?
Yep, plenty of people at my School are either fans or don't know who he is. The former make up the majority might I add, while the latter is usually populated by the guys and girls into Rap, most of whom don't speak English as a first language.

Really, who cares? Half of his popularity on the web comes from people checking out his stuff to insult him, and people who go off and freak out about this are just going to spread the word and make it even more popular.
Really, I don't listen to him, I don't care about this, and I find the haters more annoying than him and his fans.

He's pretty popular right now amongst younger girls. Didn't the Jonas Brothers and Miler Cyrus get their own movies as well? People are trying to cash in on that popularity. And believe me they will definately cash in.

"Cha-ching!" indeed.

I was just watching T4, and an ad came up, mentioned Bieber, and I thought "Ugh, another Bieber competition" and I heard the word movie, payed attention and immediately facepalmed. What is the world coming to... =\

Edit: I just think that the movie industry should be about artistic celebration, not promoting some whiny kid who makes bad music.
What about Fred's Movie? [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred:_The_Movie]

Regardless whether we have listened to him or not (I have), he represents exactly what is wrong with music today.

Enormous record labels picking up pubescent children, complete with jail bait, horrible hair cuts and even worse singing and instrumental skill to produce music that is not made but manufactured like everything else in today's society. The music industry has worked out a formula and they exploit it at every chance they get so that it's a titan powered by the people itself--unknowingly and knowingly. They squelch out any chance at true originality or at least true expression and drown them out with rancid music people have heard before, songs with ridiculous lyrics and absurd amounts of overused hook and greed that overcomes even stalwart musicians.

In short--We hate what he represents more than we could ever hate him. After all, he's only eight years old.

Or twelve.

Or seven.

In any case, he sounds eight.

A Lady Gaga movie would be trippy as hell.
How to make a Lady Gaga movie: Just give your audience REALLY good acid and let them trip for about 2 hours.

I don't think you realize what a huge slap in the face that would be to people who liked his music.

After all, Nirvana has become exactly what he didn't want it to ever be.

A pseudo-pop-rock phenomenon that everybody had and has jumped onto, reproduced, remanufactured, reverse-engineered, copied and pasted.

Will it be like a "rise to fame" movie, or a Hannah Montanna-esque style movie with a (relatively) proper storyline and stuff?

Either way, nobody's forcing you to watch it.
