The only reason why I'd like to get rid of the Mako is how easy it makes a lot of the game. It took me a while to figure out it could fire rockets but once I did nothing was challenging anymore. Any enemy that could pose any threat to the Mako you can just run over and they're screwed. What could be interesting is a boss fight that's actually well designed for the Mako. I didn't have a particularly frustrating time with the driving though.
Also, I think in ME2 in the sex scene they should have "suck it Fox News" tattooed on the girl's ass.

Dude, what did you hope to get out of this? The Mako was a common complaint, you aren't breaking any ground here, and even if you were, wouldn't Bioware's forums be a better place for this?
Honestly, I think the point of this thread is more for the sake of opening up discussion.

Looking back on Mass Effect, the Mako did control like a fat man on a unicycle. They don't have to take it out. Just make it control properly.
Oh. Well, I look at the Mako the way I look at the elevators: I see it, and realize others had a problem with it, but I have no problem with it myself. Does that make me a fanboy?
Certainly not. I didn't mind the Mako: sure, it could have handled better, but it got the job done.
And regarding elevators: I realize they are necessary. I'd rather ride in an elevator and admire the graphics and textures for a while than sit through a screen that says "LOADING AREA. IM IN UR GAME, BREAKIN UR IMMERSION". Perhaps some expository dialogue during elevator rides would have been nice.

I actually had no problem with the Mako, or it's controls. Anyway, I've mentioned in pretty much every ME thread why it is I like the Mako so can't really be bothered doing it again.

I just hope we get to use it again in ME2. Though maybe not the same one, considering the wreck the one you used in the first game ended up in. That, and salvaging one small vehicle was quite probably quite low on the list of priorities after the game finished.

Yeah, BioWare would be digging their own grave if they left the Mako the way it is. Either get a new vehicle, or fix the stupid suspension.

I hated the targeting in the Mako. If you were on level ground, it was ok, but at even a slight angle, you had no hope of aiming straight. Quite annoying when there are Geth Armatures firing at you.

I wish they would get rid of uncharted planets altogether and focus on making real ones with stories like Feros, Noveria, Virmire. The uncharted planets just felt like a grind. It didn't help that almost every side mission used the same 3 dungeon layouts. I just do enough side missions to get the majority of the game (for the ally achievements) then I never touch them again.

Yeah the Mako was frustrating as a whole. The amount of times it'd bounce, flip and land roof first in a bloody crevice that was impossible to manoeuvre out of was ridiculous. But what I'd really like to see in Mass Effect 2 is a consistent frame rate. I know it's nitpicky but laggy animations kind of break immersion for me. I didn't really mind the elevators cause that actually kept the immersion in.

At a point in the game, (Virmire I think?) I got so fed up with the mako that I decided to just do the whole level on foot. It pissed me off that much.

The only part of the mako that pissed me off was actual combat in it. Shooting the damn turret without zooming would just become so damn annoying at times. Thankfully the enemies were weak and retarded so it was easy to kill them with the super shot.

You know what they should really fix from that game? The damn dejavu. For a rather in depth and well explained universe, it sure lacked visual diversity. I know a lot of the buildings, technology, ect..is all based off of prothean tech, but god damn did it feel samey. Even star trek did a better job at diversity...STAR TREK!! the baron explorable planets looking samey didn't bother me since they wanted a semi realistic universe. Face it, more planets out there are nothing but desolate rocks like in ME, but invading the same damn warehouse, boarding the same damn ship felt stupid and wreaked of lazy design.

I have plenty of other complaints about the game that they should fix but that was one of my biggest gripes, the whole copy/paste of a good portion of the game. Oh and for the love of god make the main story longer and have more relevance please and thank you.

The Mako is floaty, slow and the steering was terrible. Either redue the whole thing or get rid of it completely.

I didn't have a problem with the Mako sections for the most part. It could've gone a little faster though, I guess. I can see why other people might have hated it, but just personally never found it all that irritating.
