it is not valve's fault, but microsoft's
valve wants to release stuff for free, MS wants to charge for every update individually.

The issue is more of a hardware thing, in fact. They (Valve) are worried about possible performance issues with the Xbox hardware, with the sheer amount of new stuff included in the updates.
Plus, Valve has never really been a console company, and it's not like they promised to release everything on both systems.
And, to funksobeefy, no offence, but where did you get that idea? Valve is probably the most fan-friendly game company out there.

This won't work. Ever. My theory is that [sub]VALV[/sub]e will release HL2 Ep.3 and the TF2 360 updates when Source 2.0 (or whatever) comes out.

This is a bloody stupid idea. Please stop being such a dumbass N00B and buy the PC version.

EDIT: Sorry if I came off as a bit of a tosser, but, you don't need a incredibly high-end PC to run most [sub]VALV[/sub]e games. Those new Toshiba Satellite lappys run games beautifully and come with about 300[sub]GB[/sub] of memory.

While I as a "betrayed" 360 user am against this, you seem to have missed the point. Valve have never said "We're not giving the 360 users the TF2 content", and it was sais a while back that they would.

Valve completely dropped the ball on this - on not doing it. Sure, it would be a bad thing, but when a game developer admits to a mistake it makes it a bit better. However they actively ignore all 360 users who express interests in this issue - threads on Steam are locked, emails deleted. The fact that an entire userbase can be overlooked is, frankly, appalling.

Players that were promised content, no matter whether or not it gets delivered in the end, should not be left to flounder and they should not have to shell out a great deal more money to buy a new platform to play the game they've already paid for. That's a very bad way of looking at it.

Imagine, if you will, that to get access to some content in some game somewhere, You had to pay $400 and go through the long process of setting up everything and getting to grips with new and unfamiliar technology, just to get some content that was promised to you.

On Valve's part - Leaving us in the dirt was nothing short of despicable. Just give us some closure.

On your part - Players should never have to buy an entirely new platform, the most expensive one at that, just to get some content.

On my part - I too have moved on to TF2 on the PC, since I am a hybrid 360/PC gamer and it was nothing extra for me to play it but the £10 I payed for it, but I do not support this even if I sympathise. It is frustrating, since if you emailed Gabe Newell he would not respond to you, and swamping his inbox until he answers may be the only way to get him to acknowledge the problem.

Another part in the OP - the fact that the PC has been given hats. Not actual content or new gameplay changes - cosmetic, useless, pointless hats. This seems outrageous, that not only has the 360 been left in the dust at the side of the road, but the vehicle driving off is so utterly useless that it is deemed more important than an entire userbase.

valve doesnt care about the fans
It's true, they don't care about you, they care about your money - if you believe otherwise you're a fool. Chances are that they -could- release the patches as 'DLC' on the Xbox Live Marketplace, but they don't believe that it would make enough money to warrant the time spent porting the data over.

Somehow I don't think spamming someones email address will help the idea along either, not sure why though...

Well sense TF2 pushes the limits of the 360 already with particles and whatnot, adding more explosions and stuff to render will just lag it to death.

Lesson learned, buy the PC version?

So...you want to get a bunch of people together to spam Valve. This idea sounds like it would be more at home on a different internet forum. I'm not sure which one I'm thinking of...

I can see where your coming from, but spamming the living hell out of Valve won't fix anything.

Yes, I understand that Valve basically gave a giant "Fuck you" to the console crowd, but this won't fix anything.

From what I understand it was a problem with Microsoft, where MS wanted to charge for all the extra maps/items, and Valve wanting to give them away for free.

I thought they were gonna release all the updates as a big patch once they finished all the classes?

There is only one class left that needs an update...

when you think the case is already closed, why trying to piss off valve with that? i´d rather wait and be pleasantly surprised if they gave us one big upgrade once the pc version is finished. and tf2 without updates is still a great game. for all i know, it´s mostly microsoft who´s to blame for the lack of updates.

Nice plan, but you miswrote Microsoft as "Valve". It'd be kinda weird assuming VALVE to be the ones making the decisions about how big a download can be. =p

The only way I'd be pissed off is if after the Engineer update, Valve doesn't put out some sort of Class Update DLC on Xbox Live. Currently, they don't have any easy way to put out all the new content at once. Wouldn't you be kind of pissed if you just got 8 of 9 new class updates, getting an unfinished expansion that leaves out the engineer?

If you want to play TF2 properly, play it on the PC. As unfair as console gamers might perceive it to be, it's quite simply a game that was designed for play on the PC and not much else. Fair or not, it's Valve's call, and you can't fault them for that. It's the same reason you can't play Halo 3 on your computer (not that many PC gamers would want to, but that's another issue).

Even if that weren't the case, spamming the people in charge probably wouldn't have the kind of effect you're hoping for. More likely, it'd discourage Valve from ever bringing another of their games to consoles again out of annoyance at the immaturity of console gamers who pitch a fit when they don't get every last thing they want.

Oh man, aren't you the rebellious underground leader with dangerous, rogueish, rugged, yet strangely alluring eyes. I'm totally inspired by the capitalized words at the end and the exclamation points, I would follow you to hell and back. By your side we'll take down this menace and then I'll shower you with gifts. I bet you have a dark past and awesome scar too, despite a heart of gold.

Jk.

Tf2 Xbox wont work with updates because it wont drive sales anymore. It's just a waste of time, whereas every Tf2 PC update garners more sales.
