We all know its bound to happen, so what games do you think would be made for it and what would its "gimmick" be?

I think the gimmick will be more extreme than just having a Zune built into it. It will probably end up being a tablet PC running on some strange version of Windows, with a Zune built-in and more oriented at gaming than general computing.

So it will have the Xbox Live dashboard, so you'll need an XBL gamertag and Gold subscription (you know with MS you will HAVE to) and access to the same marketplace via Wifi. Possibly capable of playing 360 and Xbox games as well as games designed for the handheld.

I honestly DOUBT being able to play 360 games on it. I also think that the Xbox Live Market place will have its own section of downloadble games specifically for the handheld (but I really hope that we can download all downloadable games I need my Braid and Megaman 9 with me at all times.) I also believe it will have media function like the PSP and also see it being able to link to your gamertag to increase your gamer score on the go.

Games:
One token puzzle game that wishes it were Tetris
Bang Bang Shooter 1-5
One parkour game
Two platformers, with one being totally violent and gorey and the other being a reskinned Mario.

Gimmick:
Due to it's heavy use of shooters, it will feature a built-in trackball in addition to thumbsticks.

Obviously, it needs an overheating problem, where the lights start to glow white hotin a full circle. It will be called a Halo.

Probably going to have a blasted touch screen. It was a "nifty" idea at first and now it is just pathetic attempts at touching(how ironic) the less tech friendly and the gimmick worshipping bags of filth.

Oh sweet God yes, it wouldn't be a microsoft creation if it didn't have a 5% percent chance of FAIL in it. : D

Edit: Whoops, this was supposed to quote Rizo536.

If they do choose to throw their proverbial hat into the proverbial ring, then I hope it's more then just a gimmick and is actually good.

not so fast, psp can play ps3 games on it via remote play, i could see MS following suit. this is a feature of the ps3 and psp not touted enough by sony, and not supported enough by devs.
i jus crapped my pants the first time i played lair on my psp.

NOTICE: Handheld strictly intended for use in either north or south pole.

I actually don't think M$ will go for the handheld market, I have seen quite a few people steer away from sony after the PSP, perhaps M$ will just try to hold a clenched fist on the household gaming market?

Doubt it, the HandHeld is becoming even more Powerful. the DS getting Internet function, the PSP gettinga massive hardware update and even the Iphone/Ipod touch is considered a handheld. The N-Gage is also coming back. So Microsoft is the only contender left out of the ring. Plus since their offices are made of gold and cash money and they wipe their buttocks with diamond laced toilet paper I'm sure they could risk it.

That's why they would try to release something that isn't quite a handheld, just a PDA with fancy looking games on it. Nintendo have a strong footing in the handheld market but Microsoft could muscle in on it if they are clever about it and don't quite take them head-on.
