What's messed up is:- this is a backwards compatible model. This means he's taking that away from someone that would actually wants it but has to make do with a later model and depending if it's first generation he's microwaving a PS2 as well. I can't see a point.

Couldn't he have just decorated it and have modded working PS3?
Then it wouldn't be art. Why just go "half-way" when you're making art. If that requires you to light stuff on fire, then you do it. That's the only way that you're going to get some true avant-garde microwaved console centerpieces.
Ha ha ha. Nice.

why did it grow eyes?
Yeah thats what i kept thinking.
It said on the little annotations that it was 'art' so I'm thinking he applied some plastic eyes to the molten plastic and they dried into place. Looks pretty damn good though, like something from Quake. Very macabre.

Anyway, maybe it IS a waste of money, and maybe it DOES make fanboys cry, but at least now my dreams will be haunted by all those eyes! All those beady little eyes...

Staring...

Staring...

Into my soul.

The better question is why the hell was the guy microwaving the PS3 in his underpants? I don't know if I even WANT to know the answer.

I'm not sure, but going out on a limb, I'm pretty sure there aren't a lot of metal-laced electronic devices that are commercially available that will work after being bathed in microwave energy.
It all depends on the amount and duration I suspect. 600+ watts of 12 - 14 GHz radio signal for several minutes tends to build quite a lot of energy in most things metallic (or worse, things that have a signifcant water content as that particular freuquency range happens to match the resonance frequency of water). I suspect the simple fact that the damn thing burst into flames if nothing else would be cause enough to assume it no longer works without having to theorize about anything else that could have gone wrong. Wondering about the potential damage to sensitive electronics through high input of EF energy in this case is a bit like worrying about water damage in a catastrophic house fire.

I am so confused about the eyes. They weren't there when he took it out of the microwave so I'm guessing he put them on himself, but if so, who the fuck has loads of fake eyes.

That was so awesome it almost makes me want to do that to my own PS3. However I have a few games to finish so I'll put that to one side.

But seriously! That was so cool! It looked like some kind of MONSTER!!

Gotta love the fact that because of the ps3 fanboys he wont be making a xbox 360 video, serves them right, freaking hate fanboys of all sorts, but the one thing i hate the most is when fanboys call themselfs gamers, that just pisses me off as a retro gamer.
Retro fanboy. xP Thats all I have to say to that.

Why spend so much money, just to do that? Does he have lots of money, or is he just retarded...? It was as stupid as it was totally frigin awesome.

What a waste of 600 FUCKING dollars!
I find it repulsive that someone would do such a thing even if the system is broke.

I highly doubt that. Also I won't take your word for it. For one your avatar says a good bunch about you. For two I own a PS3, and a 360 (working on a wii) and I find the PS3 a much better buy.

Oh, Frank_Sinatra_, you're cute when you're not understanding sarcasm. <3

I'm wondering how they managed to get a camera view inside the microwave. o_O Also, it looks really cool when it catches fire. :3 Made me just a leetle excited even though I'm horrified by PS3-abuse-destructoness.

I think I'm cuter when I'm singing "Fly Me To The Moon".
