How about the matrix? The games werent that bad.
While I had a lot of fun with the first one, it felt so... clingy and buggy.

The second? It doesn't exist for me. Seriously.

Well actually i was talking about the path of neo. The gameplay was awesome, but the story... meh.

I thought LOTR Conquest was pretty good (could have been much better though). I also enjoyed playing through LOTR: the Return of the King in Co-op mode.
I thought The Warriors was an awesome game.
Star Wars Battlefront I & II were both very good games (I'm a little surprised no one has said those yet...)

Movie plots usually do not translate well into games.

Truthfully I'm hard pressed to think of any I liked off the top of my head. But then again I haven't played a lot of the games on this list.

Some of the Harry Potter games are playable, somewhat.

The problem is that most game adapations are quick generic and bland ripps used to try and spin more money which has killed the market. Shame really beacuse with some effort there could be many good games (FF Advent children RPG anyone?)

I just bought "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" and i have to say i am extremely impressed. The combat system is fluid, the moves flow nicely from one to the next, the graphics are very well done and the voice acting is top-notch. Have we finally reached that pinnacle that was supposedly unreachable? A movie based game that DOES NOT suck? I would like to think so.

What are some fairly decent/gut-wrenching terrible movie games that you have come across?

EDIT: I wanted to throw in "Spider-Man 2" to the Good List.
You should write a full review on it, I'd be interested to hear more about it because I'm also a little hesitant to rent or buy it.

I keep hearing that the first Riddick game was great.

Didn't hear much about the 2nd. I was recently thinking of picking them up.

I really liked Enter the Matrix. It had a few bugs in some of the levels, but it really captured the feel of the movies for me. And since it took place between movies rather than trying to follow along with the films' plot, the game developers were able to pace it like a game rather than a movie. I thought it worked well and the combat system and hacks were pretty decent.

Going way back to Sega, I used to have Aladdin and Lion King as a kid. They were both pretty decent and very playable if I recall correctly. Plus the music in the Aladdin game was addictive. I can STILL hear it in my dreams sometimes.

The Warriors (loved it), GoldenEye and The Chronicles of Riddick are probably the 3 main ones.
