Despite being exposed to a number of horror movies as a child, the only one that truly bothered me was Candyman. Perhaps it was because I grew up in a neighborhood reminiscent of the South Chicago ghettos, but there was just something about that film that did not go away once the tape had ended.
Later in my teens I watched the movie "Green Street Hooligans" where Frodo moves to England and gets embroiled in the life of football hooliganism. There was a scene very early on in the film that depicted a street brawl between two clubs and one part in particular where one man was slamming another man's head into a short metal pole. All the while I'm thinking "this is the type of shit that leaves brain damage, how can someone inflict that amount of pain over something as arbitrary as supporting a different team?" My mum and I watched it together and we both had dreams about it that evening, and we were both disturbed by the violence of that subculture. I know there are far more disturbing football hooligan films out there (Rise of the Foot Soldier for example), but "Green Street Hooligans" was my first.
The last movie to disturb me was the 2008 French horror film "Martyrs" which can best be summed up as taking all the Saw and Hostel movies, adding them together, then multiplying the product by 100. The film is absolutely unrelenting in its brutality and worst of all is that it's applied to a likable heroine, unlike in the Saw films where everyone is an unlikable fuckwit. I only thank God that I saw it on 4/20 so I was absolutely blitzed, which helped dull the shock and horror of the film, but not enough to keep the film from occupying my mind for weeks afterward.

When i was in high school a friend of mine told me about a little movie from japan called Neon Genesis Evangelion: End of Evangelion. After watching it I was never the same again.it's still one of my favorite films of all time to this day.

OT: I saw Ginger Snaps: Unleashed when I was about ten and, whilst not particularly scary or even disturbing, it kinda fucked with my head for the duration of the film. More the institution she's confined to than anything, though. That group masturbation session was weird as shit.
Guess it would have helped my understanding of the film if I had seen the first one. I just gathered that Ginger was the werewolf and the protagonist, her sister, was gradually becoming one too. Come to think of it, I can't even remember half of it...
EDIT: Looking back through some of the posts, I'm making a mental note to punch and run away from anyone who suggests that I watch 'Antichrist'. I don't know shit about it and I'm already uncomfortable.

I think Brave Little Toaster is one of my favorite kids films, ever since I rewatched it relatively recently. Kind of like how Majora's Mask has been my favorite Zelda game ever since I saw that Ben creepypasta.

I watched George Romero movies and resident evil games when they were scary when i was seven. Scared the crap out of me, i even slept underneath my bed in fear of zombies attacking my house. Not a bad idea now that I think about it...
