I don't enjoy anything "secretly", I'm quite open about my tastes in music or anything else. I see no reason not to be.
However, I won't play music around people who I know will dislike that particular music. For instance my girlfriend isn't into rap so I won't play it when I'm with her. I'm quite open about the fact that I listen to it on my own though.
I think that's a good attitude, but I sorta understand the thinking behind the OP. In your case, since you're in the music business, having eclectic tastes and a broad appreciation and understanding of all genres of music is a good thing - makes you easier to work with and speaks to your knowledge base as a music professional.
I'd imagine it would be very easy to see how individuals, as listeners or musicians or both assimilate what they listen to and/or write into a sense of personal identity. Even if we draw the wrong conclusions from it, what people like tells us a bit about them.
I'm in total agreement that being able to appreciate more genres of music is inherently good and one shouldn't feel guilt for enjoying music, but I can see WHY (often younger) people who take on music as identity are outside their comfort zone talking about Lady GAGA, if they're a self professed metal head, e.g.

Anyway, I like Katy Perry, as something that's a far throw from my usual diet, particularly this sci fi themed video:
About halfway through she's kinda rocking the Asari look @ 2:08
Also, on the video, I like the combined effect of the special effect makeup + post video post processing. It's very effectively edited, IMO.
