If the contacts in the bottom ar still ok, it probably won't damage the console.Shiraiyuki said:So, what do you think? Is it safe to put it in the system, or should I probably not?
The OP gets stubbed in the toe and drops the extingusher on his foot, the one he was carrying incase the thing caught on fire again, while simultaneously an asteroid crashed into the N64 creating a black hole and the universe imploded.Adzma said:I say put it in and hope for the best. What's the worst thing that can happen...?

*clutches chest and nearly falls over* Who would dare to put a great Zelda game in the microwave. For that i say you get revenge and put a game of hers in the microwave and claim "it's a joke" as well. Anyway as far as the catridge and console being moot goes cartridge most likely is dead and gone. Putting it in the 64 and turning it on most likely wont do a thing if it's sat for a whileShiraiyuki said:Ocarina of Time, which I've been working on, lately. what game is itShiraiyuki said:Recently, I accidentally set something on fire in my microwave. Long story... Heating up something in a container which happened to have a bit of aluminum on it. I didn't know it had aluminum on it; it went on fire, and I panicked. Point is, my friend found it funny. I told my friend who was over my house today, and while I went outside for a minute, she thought it'd be REALLY funny to put one of my Nintendo 64 games in the microwave.
When I got back, it was on the counter, I smelled something funny, and I asked why. She said she microwaved it as a joke and "something happened" to it. She didn't say what though, and nothing TOO bad seems to have happened (I mean, no visible flames, or anything). Upon quick inspection, the cartridge seems fine- keyword being seems.
So, what do you think? Is it safe to put it in the system, or should I probably not?
Oh, also, I'm decently sure this topic goes here... unless it somehow fits under gaming discussion. Not 100% sure.
I think this happened to a friend of mine once. Let me tell you, never try going after an N64 cartridge with acidic venom sacs. It's like the scene from Jurassic Park with the Dilophosaurus all over again.cobra_ky said:it's probably bricked, but unless the microwaves caused the cartridge to mutate and develop razor sharp claws or acidic venom sacs, i don't think it's likely to harm your N64.
If the he you're referring to is me, I'm actually a girl (irrelevant, but I figured I'd point it out while I'm at it), and sadly, I wasn't up to anything awesome. Oh, and I forgot to mention in my previous post, the little metal part you can see from the underneath of the cartridge is a bit (only a bit, though) deformed. I can only assume that's why it didn't work.D4zZ said:He hasn't reported back in over 30 minutes...
Is he dead? Did it blow up?
Or is he just playing Zelda?
Both?
Boringly ninjaed.
Exactly what I thought.-Zen- said:Huh.
That was anticlimactic.
Oops, sorry. Didn't know otherwise so went with the majority.Shiraiyuki said:If the he you're referring to is me, I'm actually a girl (irrelevant, but I figured I'd point it out while I'm at it)
But she melted Zelda when she was happy, you don't know what she'd be capable of melting if you pissed her off.Mrsnugglesworth said:Also, date the girl.
