Beer tastes how piss smells, I hate drinking it. Do what I'm gonna do next time I drink, get something meant to taste good that has a bit of alcohol in it.

How is this a problem? Anyway, you are not the only one who hates taste of beer. I can't understand how people can drink that piss.

Drink nicer beer to get used to it, I suppose. :p

Give ales and that a try, if you haven't already.

i don't see a problem. if you don't like the taste of beer, simply stop drinking it, or stop drinking the 2nd 1.
becaus realy, drinking beer is not what makes you a man.

Any suggestion on how to get past the taste, or condition myself to like.
Im the same as you, i hate beer, to the point where drinking more than half a bottle makes me feel ill.
However, if im already drunk, i can drink it.. So if you want to be slightly irresponsible, down some vodka or something to get you slightly drunk, and then get on with drinking beer.

Otherwise, switch to cider, it tastes better (imo) and is generally the same price for the same quantity, so wouldnt be hard to make the switch.

Well, my suggestion is as follows: Drink it without tasting it. Beer has a VERY unpleasant flavour if you're unaccustomed to alcohol and bitte tastes in general. It's a matter of drinking it without tasting it much until you become used to it, or at least, that's how I went about it :D

Or, possibly, stop drinking it until you're old enough. According to your profile, you're only sixteen. Besides, at that age I seriously doubt you can get your hands on any kind of good beer, and are forced to make do with shite that tastes like it's already been drunk once. There is a world of difference between good and bad beers.
What he said. I was going to suggest different beers also. There are several general 'types' of good beer. Lager, ale, stout, IPA, etc. Try something lighter in flavour like a Hoegarten or something. If you hated an ale today, try a lager tomorrow. Beers are like wines in that some are bitter some are sweet, etc. I cannot stress not buying cheap shit brands enough. DO NOT drink beer from a can. Cans make things taste tinny.

If you really want to get over the taste, drink more of it.
Or get yourself tipsy on something before you start with the beer.

maybe he wants to experience the bonding that goes on between friends who share a beer or three? It can be good times.

the wonderful world of beer can truly be life enriching.
I would love for someone to explain this to me. As much as I can see the "bonding" and "life enriching" factors of alcohol, to me the "activity" of drinking is no different than any other possible form of group interaction, albeit with the side effects of slowly poisoning your body, hindering your ability to make sensible decisions whilst imbibing, and after certain quantities turning the imbibers into slobbering morons screeching like banshees and/or requiring a level of managed care to rival that of defusing a time bomb.
Don't try to understand.
Either you can, or you cannot.

I didn't like beer when I first started drinking it either, but eventually you will like it if you keep drinking it enough, for a number of different reasons. First of all, there are LOADS of different kinds of beers with many different tastes. Maybe you only like a certain type of beer which you may not of tried yet. I really hate the taste of some beer but love the taste of others.
Another reason might be because you just haven't got used to the taste. Maybe just by the fact that you drink it more, or the fact that you get older, your taste of beer will change. I've also heard that your taste for alcohol doesn't develop properly until you are 18. Dunno if thats true though.

But in all honesty... nobody really drinks beer for the taste. Sure, taste is good, but thats not the point really is it?

Well I'd suggest not drinking it. It tastes like piss and isn't that alcoholic. If you're that adversed to beer, you're never going to like it, my mate gets all these wierd and wonderful beers, I try them on the off chance that I may like it, and they still all taste the same to me.

I just don't care that I don't like beer, I drink Vodka and coke when I'm out, I damn well enjoy it, and can drink all my mates under the table.

But seriously if you're not old enough, don't worry about it yet and when you grow up you'll realise it's not "Cool" to drink underage. It's actually retarded.
Cut the guy some slack, it doesn't exactly seem like he's "doing to be cool and edgy hurp durp" (how I hate that expression), maybe he would just like to drink some booze? I drunk growing up because I wanted to, granted it wasn't very often, but I'll be damned if I was doing it to be cool. I mean seriously, berating someone for drinking under-age? I bet you did it yourself and calling the guy retarded is just a bit full on.

Try different types of drink, for instance:

Banana Bread Bear or any other alternative
Cider, same(ish) price, a hundred times the taste
Wine
Spirits .ect

If it's alcohol the taste that irks you stick to cider and flavoured bears, they tend to mask it. My favourite is Whiskey.

Always keep it cold. First of all, drink it out of a glass rather than the bottle and don't take forever to drink it. If it gets warm it does taste like shit, maybe that's your problem.

It also depends on the beer of course. Try Heineken served really cold. If you don't like that, I suggest you find yourself another "social" drink.

Taking things even one step further than the OP, I dislike the taste of alcohol in general (not just beer). I avoided drinking for years because of it, but then I kind of avoided social shit in general so yeah

Anyway I'm getting past my dislike of alcohol by just gunning it whenever I go to a bar or restaurant. I find beer especially is a lot easier to drink if you have food to wash it down with.

Oddly enough I'm slowly getting used to the taste of beer, but I don't think I'm ever going to like the stuff.
