I was wondering about this; Character A is turned into a girl by a magic mcguffin andhe (now she) and really likes character B. Character B is a natural female and learns that A is normaly a guy and really likes he(r) back. Now my quesion to you, is character A, B, or both homosexuals? Keep in mind A still acts and thinks like a guy.

No, in this scenario both characters like someone of the opposite sex, like it normally goes.

Why am I supposed to keep in it in mind that someone 'acts/thinks like a guy'.

I don't agree with that as a thing at all. People think and behave like people. So really, I have no idea what you're trying to get at. Perhaps you could more accurately describe what you conceive of "thinking/acting like a guy" entails.

If by this, you mean they still have the mind of a guy, but the body of a girl, then it's straight if you ask me. Mind over matter and all that jazz.

Same thing as transsexuals in real life; you're technically gay and straight.

Also, you should probably be concerned that this is something you feel genuinely needs answering.

Character A is homosexual, character B is bi-sexual and evidently already had that predisposition.

Character A is hetero (OR BISEXUAL! but shows no indication of that, or homosexuality.).

Character B may be homosexual, or hetero (OR BISEXUAL!), it depends on if they're sexually attracted to A's body or personality.

Or hey, they could both be, I don't know, BISEXUAL?

We do exist people. Same with asexual people.

Gay and straight... if only they had a name for that, like 2 sexualities... hey, bi is 2, so they would be like, bi-sexual? Nah that's too crazy.

It's a tricky one, to be sure. The magical thing doesn't have any other effects? Will Character A become influenced by the new body's hormones? Is Character B attracted to A's mind or body?

I would say of the two, B would be homosexual while A is still hetero. B could be hetero, but affected by the magic, and the longer A stays in that body WITHOUT having any changes due to hormones (IE: remains attracted to females only) then you could classify A as homosexual.

There'd need to be more information, in terms of story.

You're aware that there really isn't any data showing that adult hormone levels have anything to do with sexual orientation, right?

Does it matter to really put a label to it? To me, they are lesbians. But love is love, who cares who has a dick and who doesnt.

You act like there's only 2 sexual orientations.
What you're describing sounds more like pan-sexuality rather than homosexuality, loving someone for their personality alone, rather than for physical characteristics.
That's what person B sounds like to me.

I'm Bisexual, and I'd say that's not Exactly what this sounds like, bisexuality is when you feel physical attraction to members of both sexes, the way the author framed it, it sounded like person B never felt physical attraction to person A, but did feel strong emotional attraction.

Now assuming person A was a heterosexual male before becoming a woman, person A would still only be attracted to women, which is now the same sex, so person A would be homosexual (under those circumstances)

My conclusion:
Person A is homosexual, Person B is pan-sexual.

True, but there's not exactly any data on gender-switching magic either. :p A few stories/movies I've read/seen have the afflicted party change subtly in that department.

"No, I'm a guy, I like girls! Girls, dammit! Ooh, that guy's kinda cute... NO! GIRLS!"

As I said, there'd need to be more information given about what happens afterwards, before any final answer is given.

I don't think putting labels like that on people is that important even in real life, and in a fantastical situation like that...

Who cares?
It would be far more important they are both okay with a situation like that, and that the changed one won't feel alien in her/his own skin, and that whether if she will change back to him B would still like him/her.

My head hurts now, this is an think of the catgirls image question.

If A still sees herself as a guy and likes B, straight, if Thinks of herself as a woman, lesbian.

If B thinks of A as a Guy, straight, if thinks as A as a girl or never knew was a guy, lesbian.

Now i Mourn for the catgirls and my lost brain cells

Isn't that exactly the plot of Misfile?

Have you perhaps been reading a certain webcomic by the name of "Misfile"?
It has alot to do with your question.
Anyway, I think that person B would be more of a homosexual then person A. It doesn't matter what happens, A is still a guy for all but appearance while B is a lifelong girl who prefers having a relationship with a "girl" rather then a "normal guy".

I don't know.

This is usually the part where gender and sexual orientation start falling apart and you just stop caring.

I think a lot of has to do with whether or not Character A identify as a man, women, or perhaps something non-gender binary.

If A thinks of himself a man, then I guess you could say that he a transgender male and both are straight.

If A thinks of himself a women, then she would be a women and both could be considered lesbians, and A probably has a more masculine or butch gender expression.

If A identifies as neither, then whatever.
