A question about nipples...

So I was thinking the other night, and I came across a really weird realisation...
Why is it that you can't show women's nipples on general television... but you CAN show men's nipples? Now that I think about it, it doesn't make sense oO

As for who can show them, it largly depends on two things.

1. How a country's indecency laws restrict or allow the depiction of said objects, and so forth changes country to country.

2. How late at night are they being shown.

OT: You might as well ask why ANY kind of body exposure is permitted on TV. It's probably because the Moral Authority doesn't want the minds of our young men to be corrupted with thoughts of boobies, while women are supposed to be chaste and not want sex to begin with, so who cares about them.

I guess women are supposed to be turned on more by personality than physique, but then there's Twilight... Edward... Jacob... so I guess we can never really be sure when it comes to human nature.

Finnboghi's right. This is... odd to say in a forum post, but since women's breasts/nipples are for feeding children, they have to be less sensitive if you're going to have a kid sucking your chest for a few months. LOL

Because the female body is an object of shame, and to be covered up unless viewed by mature adults. Duh. That's the same reason for every other double standard, like

1. Men who bang lots of women are studs, but women who bang lots of men are whores.
2. Strong men are manly, strong women are lesbians.
3. Men should enjoy sex a lot, but women who enjoy sex a lot either have serious issues, are whores or nymphomaniacs, or are just dirty
4. Men shouldn't have to wear condoms or pull out, that's inconvenient. Women should just take a magic pill (which screws with their hormones and body chemistry to a great degree).
5. If a man pays for a date, it means a woman should reciprocate with sex, because these are equal things.
6. If a man refuses a woman's advances, it's his prerogative. If a woman refuses a man's advances, she's just a cold *****.
