I know a thread was already created like this, but I'm not interested in trolling, I'd much rather hear people's philosophy on things.

My personal philosophy has been not to trust anyone about anything because it
keeps
screwing
me
over
But I suppose that's not really wise, is it?

anyways, what's your philosophy, and do you believe in some kind of god(s)?

My philosophy? Life's a *****, try to make it yours.

I'm atheist technically, but don't align myself with it because it tends to be considered Christian bashing and nothing more.

Agnosticism/Mild Atheist. I'm not so arrogant as to presume that I, or any other simple-minded mortal has the answers to the universe. As a general philosophy, I strive for apathy; to not care is the best way to achieve impartiality.

Religion is the belief in the words of humans. Faith in God is not necessarily that.

Sorry if I offended anybody here, that's just way I think.

Religion is crowd control, there might be a god, but some man with a funny hat is not going to judge me seeing as how hes as imperfect as I am.

My life philosophy is close to a sort of Christian existentialism with emphasis on the Christian. There's a lot in existintialism that I agree with, but too much of it contradicts my faith for it to be a dominating factor.

I live my life trusting God and it's worked out pretty well so far.

Just to be comfortable with what I, or any individual, may believe in.

Well, I pretty much just believe in whatever I think is cool and adapt other ideas as well as my own into my personal little spiritual beliefs. I am polytheistic, and I believe in animism- that everything has a little spirit inside of it, from people.. to clouds. :] As well as a sort of deity or god over ever sort of element that you could probably find in a Zelda game- water, earth, vegetation, fire, etc. etc.

It's not something I believe in to the point of worship or anything- just something I find interesting and that I, personally, can appreciate.

My philosophy:
- Ultimate truth or meaning is impossible to find.

- Ultimate truth could possibly exist in some form, but the flawed nature of man makes it impossible to find this truth.

- The journey to try find this truth can still have merit. It can make you a better person or help you understand your fellow man.

I don't have any background studying philosophy, so this is a work in progress. There is more to it, and it has mostly evolved out of conversations with my friends while stoned and playing Halo.

Considered Christian bashing only by Christians. Or the U.S.A. if you prefer.
The rest of the world considers Atheists freethinkers.

That is anti-theism, not atheism. Anti-theists are not free-thinkers but fundamentalists, and gravitate towards these kinds of threads like wasps to jam. If you don't believe in god you should call yourself an atheist, and make it clear to people that you have nothing against religious people, this would help seperate atheism from theophobia.

I believe in the philosophy of Bill Hicks:

'The world is like a ride at an amusement park. And when you choose to go on it, you think that it's real, because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round. It has thrills and chills, and it's very brightly coloured, and it's very loud and it's fun for a while. Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they begin to question: is this real, or is this just a ride? And other people have remembered, and they come back to us. They say "Hey! Don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because, this is just a ride." And we... kill those people. Ha ha ha. "Shut him up! We have a lot invested in this ride. Shut him up! Look at my furrows of worry. Look at my big bank account and family. This just has to be real." It's just a ride. But we always kill those good guys who try and tell us that, you ever notice that? And let the demons run amok. But it doesn't matter because it's just a ride. And we can change it anytime we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings and money. A choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your doors, buy guns, close yourselves off. The eyes of love, instead, see all of us as one. Here's what you can do to change the world, right now, to a better ride. Take all that money that we spend on weapons and defense each year and instead spend it feeding, clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, for ever, in peace.'

'We are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There's no such thing as death; life is only a dream, and we're the imagination of ourselves.'

Also the anthropic principle [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthropic_principle]. And science in general. The universe is awesome, fantastic, beautiful. It is fascinating to search for the true reasons behind that rather than inventing a make-believe unknowable man who just created it all, which offers no real understanding whatsoever, just the illusion of meaning.

my philosophy: try not to get attached to something, eventually everything goes away
which also includes making acquaintances, not friends, because then they leave you and go to a different 6th form...

and when life gets you so down that you stop caring, just do something stupid for the hell of it

My Philosophy:
1- Carpe Omnius

2- Mostly Darwinism and my own form of Anarchic Elitism

3- If there is a god (big If) he'd proove he exists, otherwise, not prooving he exists opens the world up to evil and corruption, making him either evil or uncaring, either way; he's not perfect (unless perfection isn't connected to morality which raises a whole other debate).

4- In the end, wether you believe in God or not, it doesn't matter, we're all Human and in some very convoluted way a huge family (no matter how ashamed we are of others) and to judge another by his or her beliefs is the biggest idiocy one can commit for it is a life choice of Faith vs Science vs Deppressing Emo-ism vs Whatever I'm Considered to Be (IE Insane & Narcissic AKA Eccentric).

Whatever works for you does, but it doesn't work for others.

And Sleep is always good.

God is there, but not in the way we'd expect.

Don't click if you're easily offended.
The belief that a walking dead Jewish deity who was his own father although he always existed, commits suicide by cop, although he didn't really die, in order to give himself permission not to send you to an eternal place of torture that he created for you, but instead to make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh, drink his blood, and telepathically promise him you accept him as your master, so he can cleanse you of an evil force that is present in mankind because a rib-woman and a mud-man were convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree. Yeah, the whole thing would make Jesus die laughing, if he wasn't dead already.

This is something I found called christianity in 110 words. I haven't counted them, so don't call me out on that. It sums up fairly well the lunacy that is the religion. Now, if I could only find one for "the religion of peace", I'd be pretty happy.

My philosophy?

You can't benefit from the world if you are dead, so do anything to keep yourself alive.

On a serious note, I'm an athiest. I do not really believe in the supernatural or any existence of some sort of deity. I have many criticisms of religion itself, but that surely isn't needed at all. I just do not see any reason to set certain limitations on my life or the need to feel judged, or live out of fear of an all powerful "loving" God that will send me to Hell for eternity for simply not accepting him.
I would much rather treat this life now as the only one I will get to experience and live it out accordingly, not expecting something in return when I am in my grave.

I just wish to be comfortable with myself and how I feel. I have no problem with simply stating that we don't know everything, and never will, and the scope of the world might never be answered.
