I have begun to notice a trend among some people I know on facebook. A couple friends and I have developed gimmicks including...

1) I post random quotes that are funny, interesting, or inspirational.
2) One friend asks for comments on peoples top 5 favorites, like movies and anime.
3) Another friend posts his Exercise in Futility. Examples include:"Monopoly: Soviet Union Edition" and "Asking a Mime how to be a Mime"

So I was wondering if you or people you know have some kind of facebook gimmick. And if so, what is this gimmick?

I fucking hate people who post 'touching' and 'sad' quotes which are really just a witty line and an analogy. I even made my Homepage 'write something about yourself' about mocking those except only the ones who hate them would understand.

2&3 I have no idea.

This, so much this it makes me want to just scream at them.

The most common Facebook-phenomenon I see is one I hate with a passion, "vaguebooking".

I don't have a gimmick per se, but I delete any item on my wall relating to the games I play after a day has passed. I don't want my Restaurant City posts clogging up my Facebook history.

Lately I have been posting quite often about my NHL draft team but that's because I'm doing very well: 2nd place in a pool of 11, only 6 points out of 1st.

But unfortunately my peers entering puberty and such, who can blame them?

I deactivated my Facebook party for that kind of reason. Also, if someone is my friend then they have my phone number. If they want to speak to me, they can call me and I will do the same. Anyway, I live with most of my actual friends and everyone else was just a random person who I went to school with and whom social dogma demanded that I have as a Facebook friend. So yeah, power to me.

Drama queens writing statuses about hating drama queens. I appreciate the hypocrisy whenever I see people do that.

My pet peeve is when people's profile picture is either not of them, or is of them and their significant other. It is not your fucking baby's Facebook page.

Most of the time they aren't "touching" quotes, the last three were:
"Pwangg?" Trees don't go "Pwangg--" Llamas don't go "Pwangg--" Nothing found in nature goes "Pwangg", which means -- we're officially hip deep in the smelly stuff."
-Deadpool
"Everyone, one at a time and try not to cut yourselves on the incredibly improbable hole in thin air that doesn't seem to give a crap about the laws of physics."
-Tempts Fate
"Halo 2 is a lot like Halo 1, only it's Halo 1 on fire, going 130 miles per hour through a hospital zone, being chased by helicopters and ninjas. And, the ninjas are all on fire, too."
-Jason Jones
I tend to lean more to funny and random more than anything else.

This, so very this!

Seriously, if you have something to say, say it. If you consider me a friend, tell me. Don't half-post something and never follow up on it, even when asked, I'll feel insulted and will probably delete you.

I've actually abandoned fb now......after deleting a hell of a lot of people. But it's OK, they're not real friends anyway!

Or people who post song lyrics that are apparently related to their situation, but are just whiny bullshit. Whiny stati in general annoy me.

On a side note, come join the page for Correct pronunciation of Latin!

One of my "friends" has this fucking annoying urge to make stupid "philosophical" quotes and put them in quotation marks all the time. The bit that makes it so lame it is damaging to others is that they are always slight rewordings of already famous quotes, or just plain obvious.

Someone called him out on his bullshit once by saying "isn't that a quote from X". He then claimed it was his original work. When my mate gave him the source of the original quote he got all defensive. Lolz were had.

I post about 3 times a year.

2 of them are about Sonisphere.

The other is generally some geeky video if I get seriously bored.

Do you mean if like, there's some chick/guy that's been writing status' like
"Oh man...shit as day ;(!!11!11!" or "Fuck this shit, I can't go on!" etc.
But then the next day they say:
"I hate people who post status' saying how sad their lives are!"

Cause I hate that...so much.

Also people who post inspirational quotes, like, if it touched you so much, why do you feel the need to repost it on facebook? Especially if it's a quote that EVERYONE HAS HEARD A THOUSAND TIMES, OR IF IT'S FROM EMINEM, I DON'T FUCKING CARE ABOUT WHAT EMINEM HAS TO SAY!
