A question for Halo haters.

I've heard a lot from people who hate Call of Duty and Halo multiplayer. They don't like the players or game at all. So I just want to ask this question: What do you guys play online? If you can't stand Halo and CoD, what games do you play online? I'm honestly curious.
-Note: I realize that CoD and Halo aren't the only games with online multiplayer, they're just the most popular.

Resistance: Fall of Man and Resistance 2 are the only games I really play online. I also rarely play those, but they would be the games I would play.

I'm not a CoD hater. I just dislike Halo because I hate the idea of having to unload 10,000 rounds into an enemy before they die. Too much jumping around etc.

Yeah, hasty generalizations. They're a logical fallacy too.

I don't have any particular against Halo or CoD, but I prefer Team Fortress 2 mostly because the characters have more personality and the design is more interesting. Halo and CoD just seem kind of... generic. All of the games do there job well, though.

I play MW2, Bad Company 2, and Borderlands mostly, I used to play Halo as well but I grew tired of the underwater running and power-weapon scrambling I found in most games. It's still fun and I'm by no means a "Halo-hater," but that's why I don't really play all that often. The other games feel more solid and less floaty to me. I imagine the next online game I'll play will be Crackdown 2...

I haven't been playing any shooters recently (or anything for that matter), but when I was I was playing: Counter-Strike: Source, Insurgency, Empires, TF2, Source-Forts, Battlefield 2, and Project Reality.

Edit: Also Shattered Horizon, though only sporadically, since I was slowing down on playing games when I bought it.

Making gross generalizations about communities makes no sense at all, especially when it is obviously a false stereotype.

Generally speaking . . . I don't.

I do Brawl with friends from time to time, most often when we feel like having fits of gaming punctuated with us all rolling on the floor laughing so hard it hurts from the insanity of the BULLSHIT we're pulling off onscreen.

The only real "online multiplayer" I do, is at work . . . (game tester) and even then it's only because it's for tasks to make sure it's not broken

If only there wasn't such massive lag, and more people would get into it, I would play some Crackdown co-op. In those extremely rare occasions that I actually got into a game with someone, it was always a blast assisting each other, running each other over, playing rocket tag, etc.

I don't play online but I did enjoy multiplayer halo when I could play it, same with code at a LAN centre. I love FPS multiplayer but the single in most of them are just so damn boring.

And yes, there are idiots who play every single one of those games as well. Having an online mode brings insanely stupid people. I know often times stereotypes aren't true, but nearly every time I play Left 4 Dead 2 with someone who is acting like a total jerk, I check their page and it shows that they play Modern Warfare 2. Most everyone I've seen who goes off on people or uses racial slurs constantly has 50+ hours on Modern Warfare 2. I just don't want to play with those kinds of people! It's also sad for me to watch what used to be my favorite franchise turned into this mess with most of the player base being just stupid. Every video I look up of "pwnage" videos on YouTube, it's just people sitting in a corner camping, grenade spamming, or being all around cheap. When you have an enormous player base like it does now, it's more likely that you'll attract idiots.
