The clue's in the name - AMERICAN football ;) I barely even follow my own country in World Cup, so the chance of following some American sporting contest is pretty damn slim, lol.

when I attended college in the US I went to their football games and admit that I enjoyed the game, but not enough to continue watching.

Super Bowl? What's that? A super-sized dish? :p

Just kidding. But really, I have no interest in American Football (although, to be honest, I always thought it should have been named "American Rugby"). Although, frankly, I have no interest in sports in general. At best, I, on a very, very rare ocassion, watch a football (or soccer, as people in the US like to call it) match.

Well I am right now but only because my dad just happened to chose it. I have no interest whatsoever in American football, I can't even seen why it's called football to be hounest.

I'll respond with a question: Are YOU watching the Hurling final?
YES!!!
*high fives*
:D

Anyway. Back on topic.

No offense, but I tried watching that weird version of rugby but with tonnes of Kevlar.
I have never been more bored. I'm sure you guys love it, really, but why does it go on for about a decade of play? Why is there so much standing around and scratching of arses??
My ex is American and she LOVES it. (Her team is the OU Sooners)

No offense, but I won't be watching the Super Bowl.

Sorry, America, but this is one of those things that you can't really export. Being Irish, I'm way more used to faster paced games.

Hope your chosen favourite team destroys their opponents, though. Have a good one!

I'm in Australia, and no, although I've seen a surprising amount of advertisements for it (well, to the extent that I knew it was on and who was playing).

Canadian. No interest in American football whatsoever, far too busy preparing myself for watching the curling during the Brier in March.

I came home from work only to find my Midday Dr Phil was called off for some sporting event, I was sad because I enjoy having my lunch and laughing at the people who can't keep their shit together and so need to talk to the biggest egghead on the planet for advice.

But I was well aware that the Super Bowl was on but have never been interested in any football besides Aussie Rules (however it is fun to watch the drama queens during the Fifa world cup).
Now I AM NOT TRYING TO DISRESPECT but from the small amount I have seen of American football/rugby whatever you call it is a much less athletic sport than aussie rules, it moves much more slowly and it just doesn't give me that fast paced, adrenalin pumping, I get invested in the outcome feeling that watching a sport should give.

Ugh, god no. I really don't care about American football.

At least in rugby there's none of that padding, only pansies wear that stuff. Rugby's a real man's game.

So those of you living outside the United States I have a question. Are any of you planning on watching the Super Bowl? Do you care at all? For those not aware the two teams this year are the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

All opinions are welcome just please keep them polite. Sports fans inside the states are encouraged to keep everyone who is not in the know properly informed.

EDIT: I changed the title. Happy now?

For those too lazy to google

No. Until right now I didn't even know what the "Super Bowl" referred to. Apparently American Football (or "Hand Egg" as it should be known)

I wouldn't call those big, muscle-necked freaks "real men". Real men beat bears to death bare handed and work in a coal mine all day. They don't run around on a field grabbing each other and fighting over balls. Jus' sayin.

Not gonna watch. I usually watch a game or two of World Cup, even though my country is never represented. I don't really know much about american football at all, and I'm not going to force myself to get into it, seeing as I'm not into sports that much to begin with.

And yet I've seen many a grid iron player refuse to play rugby because they're scared to play without padding.

At least they're not as bad as those goddamn soccer players. -_-

I watched a bit of the Super Bowl and it all seems like a big load of Self Patriotic Masturbation. No other country participates in that kind of thing and I think it is the reason other countries like to mock the USA.

Not me personally but damn I could stop laughing at the whole thing, it is just one massive parody of its self.
