Well, from what I could grasp from the question, you offer godhood for 5 lives. As compeling this may sound at first, I think I wouldn't do that. But not because of the price.
As our good spidey-friend keep shoving in our heads: ''with great powers comes great responsabilty''... So if you press the button, since you have the veto in every action in the universe, you will also get the responsability for everything that happens...
-Magically stop people from fighting?Brainwashing
-No starvation? Either you destroy the agronomy or you make different beings
-Save economy? No new ideas (and therefore changes), so stagnation
-Infinity wisdom? Probably (I don't have infinite wisdom, so I don't know) you would now know that you can't change much, making the sacrifice kinda meaningless.

The point is : the button will grant the destruction of the world since nobody can control godhood. And I don't want to screw the whole world for an illusion

Ps: And if someone gets offended, please ask (by quoting) for me to change the post.

Pss: I'm new here and I clicked the red button undder some avatars...It made all pics look like Justin Bieber...Why would someone want this??Just. WHY?

Yes, a 1000 times yes!! So what if some random people die or some random window cry. Five people dieing wont make any difference to the world but if IM reach and powerful that will make a difference to the world, a good difference mind you. Five family's morning is not rare, thousand of family's morn the lose of there loved ones EVERY day!!! You thing of them? NO you do not and its better that way, trust me.
...
Oh go ahead call me an "evil" person!
well i won't call you evil because that's what a lot of people would do and people do die everyday but we don't think about it because we aren't responsible for their deaths.

Nope, I wouldn't even think about touching the button. I don't want the life I dream of handed down to me, to echo Nietzsche on this one "What could man create if gods existed?" What would be my left of my dream if someone made it for me? People dying doesn't even factor in to my equation, because I know that to get to the top, I'll probably have to step on people, and some people might suffer through my decisions.

Yup.
Take me to this button, now. I must press it.
5 people I'll never meet is a small price to pay. Hell, in the few hours since this thread was started, a considerably larger amount of people has died anwyay.
So, yes. Don't even have to think about it.
I like you. You know how it is.

Every life is mundane when it's "perfect" so I wouldn't press it, not for the people, but because I wouldn't want a life without my flaws and imperfections.

Sure. The occasional pangs of guilt I would get can be smothered in free alcohol. It's really a case of 'out of sight, out of mind'. I can't see myself caring very much, although I know I should.

I would press that button in a second an never even think back on those miserable bastards that died for my rise to power mwwhahahahahah!

Really I might feel a twinge of guilt but I would still press that button in a second. If I could have everything I wanted instantly I could make this world a much better place for many more people and those five would be an acceptable sacrifice for me.

In the words of my history teacher "You can't make and omelet without breaking a few eggs, and as long as they're your eggs and my omelet why should I care?"

I'd press it.
Dick move? Maybe.
Selfish? Absolutely.

but I'd press it anyway, and maybe twice to be sure.

I would and spend my life studying, researching and working with curing diseases in poor countries. Cause that's how I imagine my perfect life. Killing 5 to get the chance of researching diseases and finding cures and also getting the chance to work in the field curing diseases is worth killing 5 people for.

I'd press it, and since EVERY whim will be catered, I will demand a machine that can revert death, use it to save those 5 people, and then blow it up.

I wont in my current state, Im just an eighteen year old Caucasian red haired male living with his parents in highschool working at mcdonalds. While i Never have felt the joy of a women other than a friend, my life is good, REAL good. I think i would need to go threw a lot of suffering and pain before i consider pushing the button.

Nope, wouldn't do it.

Also, about the guilt thing: I'd be more inclined to think that the guilt would would eat away at you over time. If you happen to run into one of the family members of those 5 people you are responsible for the deaths of, then you'd really be screwed emotionally.

Yes. My *every* whim would allow me to reform the world as I saw fit, I'd be an immortal ruler of all mankind. I could sacrifice 5 people for that. Especially if one of those five were Paris Hilton. And if this is some wibbly-wobbly magicky-wagicky device, I could brong those 5 back anyway. Unless one of them was Paris Hilton.
