A quick thought about My Little Pony

I can't wait until this MLP thing passes. And before you say that it won't - it will. Anything this insanely popular in a demographic passes.

Don't expect it in the near future.

The series will end, the fan material will start popping up and if the creator agrees to it it will be around for another 4 months after the end of the show.
After that, only devote people will still rant about it.

Like how I like to rant about Samurai Champloo.

First, yes, Samurai Champloo is amazing, if not a bit ridiculous. Still awesome though. (Although I do prefer Gurren Laggan)

Second, yes, MLP will eventually pass. In 20 years, no one except the ultimate bronies will remember the show.

But, I intend to enjoy it while the series is still good. Regardless of its intended viewers, I honestly think that this incarnation of MLP is quite good for both children and adults, and I personally like good television. It's definitely better than CSI version 42.

Although, now that Lauren Faust has left, it looks like things might already be going downhill

When will this MLP thing pass? It's pretty annoying if you ask me...

Things pony related have been rather quiet around these parts outside of the regular fandom hang outs. The fighting game news post from today is the first we've heard in a few weeks. As it stands threads talking about MLP are usually started by people who dislike or do not "understand" the fandom. (what's there to understand, we like it therefore we watch)

Pretty much.

There are certain places on the internet where a LOT of pony-related things go down, and I have a feeling sites such as equestria daily, or groups like the escapist pony one will never really die down, or at least not for a very long time.

You'd be surprised how many fansites centered around decades-old shit still exist and are frequented.

And even further, the show is now one of the net's most popular memes.

There are countless shows (old ones, too) that are commonly used as memes. It's not going away, at least not in its entirety, any time soon.

Personally, I like the series for the writing and acting. Also, there are moments of humor that reach beyond the young girl demographic.

I've only seen like a half an episode and it was alright...

The best part was this one pony in the background that had these weird cross eyes.

I looked it up, and her name is derpy hooves.

edit: and if you're talking about the first episode, the popular opinion seems to be the show gets better at episode 3, after the first 2.

It's been gaining traction for months. You missed the worst of it, when we got multiple "WTF is with My Little Pony?!?1?1?" threads per day. It was pretty bad. Flamewars were started, words were said, friendships were ruined...

Anyway, if you want to give it a try this episode is one of my personal favorites.

The worst part is that a lot of people around here actually believe them.

I live in west tennessee (pretty much the asscrack of america if you ask me) and everybody takes their word as hard facts.
