I have to say, i love the discussions and debates, but one of the core reasons i loved Resident evil was because it was also an adventure game. Ish. Ok i know survival horror was its actual element/genre but it always felt like to me the very first adventure game with puzzle solving that actually had ways to die, way to fight back, blah blah blah. Buuuut from the posts I've read, i guess nobody else felt that way about it =(. Damn.

Well...in what ways did you feel like it was an adventure game that wouldn't apply to not-classified-as-adventure-games?

Its really weird and difficult to explain. Like...I'd played some scary games and what not, thats what i was fairly used to, but it felt like after enough "look for this key" or "combine this valve with that pipe" Or somewhere along those lines, it kinda felt like i was playing point and click with a controller while shooting zombies. I know that sounds fucked up, but i always got that impression.
