First off, yeah, I know, I?m almost a month late with this review, but I wasn?t done school until the 27th, and then I had a whole bunch of band performances so give me a break. Second off, yes, this is my first review, so hit me with all ya got.

The first infamous was well received , although in my opinion there was far too much in-game assistance with the controls which made the game feel unresponsive, I mean Christ, you can be pushing directly away from a wall and Cole will still move toward it. It really stopped me from getting into it... So yeah, I didn?t really care for the first game a whole bunch.

But surely they wouldn?t have the same amount of assistance in the sequel right, or at least add in an option to turn it off, I mean, even the mainstream reviewers complained. Well, of course it does, because console players have absolutely no precision in their aim. So yeah, you can still be pushing directly away from a wall and have Cole continue to move toward it and you can still aim up and to the right of the enemy closest to the center of the screen to hit a more important target and it?ll still move toward that enemy anyway.
Yeah, this is a pet peeve of mine, but seriously, developers can at least recognize that some people don?t like aim assist and put in an option to turn it off.
Okay, I?ll admit that it isn?t always an issue, but the simply fact that I know the game has this problem pisses me off.

Besides that, there?s a few nits I can pick. Some of the enemies have ludicrous amounts of health, some are simply not affected by your basic lightning bolt, making you use up energy like an old fridge and some have attacks that have such ridiculous homing that they become nigh impossible to dodge.

The upgrade system has changed from a stacking system to a multi-ability system, in-which you can choose what side-effects your powers have, which almost guarantees that some of the effects are going to be mostly or completely useless, which some of them do turn out to be.

Then there?s the big one, the karma system. Quite simply, it doesn?t have a purpose other than to make the player play through the game twice to get both endings.
It?s not like it?s a role-playing mechanic, because you need to be fully good or fully evil to unlock all the powers in Cole?s arsenal, and being good is what makes more sense because the choices you end up getting in each scenario are equally hard (because being evil isn?t just trying to make your job easier at the expense of others, so choosing the one that will make people like you and thus more inclined to help you (That?s going to be the ?good? option btw) is the only option that makes sense.

Now, despite all of this, I actually like infamous 2. It?s immersive, well paced, well written, the characters are interesting and the main ones all have their own arcs, (except for Cole anyway, who doesn?t really have a defined personality because the writing tries to double for both good and evil and it just plain doesn?t work) and best of all, it ends really well. I complained about the karma system making you play the game twice for both endings, but it turns out that both endings are well worth seeing.

So, infamous is over now.... Well, I hope so anyway. I mean, both endings are ?Endings,? no cliffhanger shit here, the only way they could continue Infamous in any way is to make the evil ending the officially canon one and make an MMO out of it, but that would just be stupid.

It's not like a fps where the crosshair snaps to the target, but there is some minor compensation when you fire the bolt at an enemy. If your aim is off by a fraction the bolt will still hit the target.
