Eh, it's marketing.

It's not like they're going to advertise it as, "That game that triggered an online shitstorm when it attempted to retroactively murder the whole series with a horrendously mishandled conclusion."

Still bitter? Who, me? Naaaaaah.

This is exactly how it was marketed on all the other platforms. Stop twisting your panties, guys.

while that is a part of it, it's also incredibly stupid to release the final chapter of a 3 part series, the least they could do, or SHOULD do, to get even more money, is put me2 on there with the comic series like they did with the ps3.

There are plenty of angles you could go about this, not just the abysmal marketing over a "Rich, Branching Story" that alot of people have ire over.

They'll probably do a comic like they did for ME2 on PS3.

You're right, they should say something on the lines of, " Most shit game ever" I mean why would they say something POSITIVE about their own game to sell it.

I really can't fathom the grudges people still hold for ME3 to still make topics like these. It's like ME3 killed your wives and slept with your dogs.

I guess they are hoping WiiU players do not have computers or any other devices that allow them to see things on the Internet. I wonder how big this target demographic is?

Isn't it a little pathetic to have a grudge about a mediocre ending to an otherwise good game like what, half a year after it was released?

It's marketing. It isn't like you market a car by stating how many people had fatal accidents in this particular model. Unless the ammount of fatal accidents is zero. That is.

I have a feeling alot of people will buy it anyway and wind up with another rage army on Bioware and EA's front porch. Probably some WiiU collateral damage as well.

Just a theory. I'd feel bad for Nintendo if this happened.

That would work as everyone would be like "man I've got to see how bad this train wreck is". As it is I know internet has a short memory but I don't think it's as short as EA would like it to be or they're banking people who had wiis not having any other consoles or an internet connection...or a subscription to Forbes.

Well technically the ending was determined by your choices...specifically the choice of whether you want to paint the galaxy green, blue, or red *insert drum rimshot*

My favorite lie from ME 3: "The ending won't be some bland, cliched "Pick A, B, or C" ending." - Casey Hudson.
Swing and a miss on that one, my boy.

My favorite spin from ME 3: "The ending to Mass Effect 3 has generated a larger fan response than any other game in history."
Guess they weren't lying about that one...but I love how they say that like it's a good thing. :p

ME3 is 3 months old today.

I know March feels like a long time ago, what with all the ME3 drama threads, but it really was just 3 months ago.

I'm really interested in seeing how these games like Mass Effect 3 and Arkham City sell on the WeeOoo. I can't imagine them doing so well, as it seems most people interested in those games have either (A) turned against Nintendo or (B) already played those games on other systems. I guess it's a good sign that the WeiOooh will have better third party support than the Wii.

On another note: I finished Mass Effect 3 for the second time. Had 7,000 effective military strength. And my ending was...shooting Marauder Shields in the face and turning the game off.

But, surely the people who buy games based on "emotional engagement" would be fairly well into gaming culture. Meaning that they know about the ending. I just can't see someone who isn't really interested in "hardcore" gaming picking ME 3 up.

I tend to have great days, usually. Then there are some days like today when I walk on sunshine and rainbows, turn on my computer, and I'm suddenly reminded once again that we really should just make like Pippin and spare the living universe our stupidity via throwing ourselves into a dark well.

We REALLY dug this stupid rotted corpse up again? Amidst ALL the greatest news of E3 '12?

Ah, that explains why. It's ridiculous how a hot topic warps your perception of time.

Actually he said

"It?s not even in any way like the traditional game endings,
where you can say how many endings there are or whether you got
ending A, B, or C
.....The endings have a lot more sophistication and
variety in them."

Technically you don't get any ending you choose endings. Semantics? sure, but I'm fairly certain he phrased it that way on purpose.
