After listening to a few songs from Vampire Weekend's Contra Album I began to wonder about the cover art and went off to investigate like the little internet detective I am.

Turns out its been used by the band as a sort of Rorsarch Test as many people feel different things when they see a white girl, with blonde hair, in a pale polo shirt. So I was wondering what the reactions would be from members of the Escapist. The picture is below.

I find it incredibly unnevering and creepy. It makes me feel pretty unsettled and quite vulnerable for some reason. So, what did you think or feel when you saw it?

Edit: Here is what most people apparently feel when they see a picture like this. Probably shouldn't click until you make your own mind up, incase it interferes with your answer.

Most people usually feel mad or angry for some reason.

Uncanny Valley. Because of how smooth her skin is, and how her pupils are dilated, she ends up looking pretty creepy. Also, both her eyes and face are slightly skewed in a way I don't like.

For some reason, I feel as if that girl now deceased and was part of an ongoing murder investigation.

Exactly. She doesn't look real, but at the same time looks like she should be in my opinion. That, and she's staring in my soul and likely waiting outside my window to brutally murder me.

She's not unattractive, but she still looks kind of creepy. I also think that the picture itself looks fairly old, about ten years or so.

Try getting really close until your face is right next to the picture. I feel like she's about to drag me through the monitor into some twisted version of Wonderland and brutalise me.

When I glanced at it initially I just thought she was pretty hot, but the stare is kinda creepy when I look at I a second time

I think she's pretty.... for a blonde that is. But honestly, nothing really jumped out at me when I saw this. Maybe it's because I figured it was going to be something a little less ordinary.

She just seems forgettable.

But after forcing myself to really think about it, I would say she looks like a recently deceased woman, killed violently and horribly.

I felt like the picture was odd or out of place, like there was something creepy hidden in it.

But I didn't feel anger like you had said that most people did.

EDIT: For some reason, she reminds me of how I felt when I first found out about the Slender Man

No effect.

She gotta be on something with those pupils though.

And no breasts.

I don't think I'm feeling anything, nothing in the head and nothing down there.

Ok, so I'm off by more than double of my original guess. Yay!

Anyways, I thought that the supposed and intentional effect of it looking old had something to do with the supposed effect and the "test" itself, not that it was actually old, so that's why I became Captain Obvious for a second there.

I was thinking I was imagining that. I just thought she was not right, I think my desire to figure out what is up when I look at something I don't get stopped me feeling anything other than curioustity.

It deffinitely feels like there's something more to it to me too, but I just find it creepy, its like looking at a picture of a Weeping Angel after you've seen the Time of Angels episode of Doctor Who.

I didn't feel any anger either and no one here seems to be so far.

Something about the eyes seem unsettling. Like they can see right through you.

I agree but ugh, when I read the words Slender Man I felt a jolt of fear, thanks for that. Its also foggy outside. I'm scared.
