A sad day for humanity or at least the public image of these women.

The only situation I can think of where cutting off a man's penis is justified,
is if the guy is a rapist. And even then only if he does it more than once, or rapes children.
It is never justified.
If someone repeatedly raped women and/or children, I would think it justified if one of those victims cut his penis off.
Although, if a drug were available to remove his sex drive and make him unable to get an erection, it would be a far better solution.

I'm not saying women can cut c***s off as they please, only that under certain circumstances it could be for the greater good...

Edit: This was originally a footnote.

And before someone goes on a rant about freedom of speech I only have one thing to say, is common decency not a little more important than freedom of speech.
No. Period. End statement.

The right to free speech is not subject to your sense of offense. Yes, it's in bad taste. Yes, these women are showing bad judgment.

Somewhere, someone else is equally offended by something you want to consume. Maybe it's the absurdly sexualized characters and bloody absurd violence of Mortal Kombat or God of War. Maybe it's the use of the word dick when a genuinely more mature report on the event would use the term penis. Maybe it's just all the My Little Pony images.

I have no idea what media you like to consume, but the same protections that keep your media safe apply to this discussion.

I didn't say this "is" reverse sexism. I said this is what we (by which I mean a lot of people) "call" reverse sexism. I agree with you however that such a thing doesn't exist. Incidents like this are just called that a lot.

As Mark Twain said; The worst and best thing you or I could say about someone is that they are human.

Though really, what IS human? Ha! (That last bit wasn't Mark. That was me.)

Confidence in humanity still falling at an ever increasing rate. I seriously feel like we are heading towards a world similar to that depicted in the movie Idiocracy. (Very funny and increasingly relevant movie) Soon the only form of educational television will be of people destroying their genitalia in various ways and watching porn... Oh and remember kids, Brawndo has ELECTROLYTES!

But... in fairness, it does seem to be Sharon Osbourne. The others do seem to appreciate the horror and seriousness of it, but she's just a **** and always has been.

I hope someone makes her see the error of her cuntiness one day
Really because the host who introduced the story couldn't stop laughing long enough to spit it out, the audience couldn't stop laughing and one lady said "'That'll teach him!"

It wasn't just Sharon though she was the worst.
It was uncomfortable laughing, they laughed but knew it was wrong, just look at the expressions on their faces when she starts talking, its more shock than anything. It doesn't excuse it, but Osbourne was BY FAR the worst one there.

The audience are another matter altogether

No, it is never justified, let the police and the courts do their job. Likewise, I would say that it is never justified to sexually mutilate a woman.

I know what you mean too friend. Personally, I think everyone should try being a bit more like positive pessimistics.(People who have a negative outlook, but are happy about that.)

I think people should stop hating others for being what they are, and just hate everyone simply for being. If everyone hates everyone and everything, then we have to spread our hate so thin that we can only hate each thing and person only so slightly. At least that's the theory.

See you later friend. ;) I hate you.

Wow Sharon Osbourne, you're as bad at being a television personality as you are at being a tour manager. *obscure rock history joke*

In all seriousness, this type of thing really tires me. It's not even worth getting offended over because you can't do anything about it. I just hope that the television audience for this show was just as disturbed and horrified by it as we were. I doubt it though.

What can you do, eh?

This has really soured my mood today and no mistake. Leave me escapists, I would be alone...

am i the only one who finds it ironic that when women want to "attack" a man, they immediately go for the testicles or penis? I'm sure if that woman had thought about what it would be like to have her clitoris or or breasts ripped off, she wouldn't have gone that far.

No, I think they were different to the hosts I'm defending (which is an odd stance for me to take, I admit) in that they find it genuinely funny and see no issues with poking fun at it. They're as bad as Osbourne.

Pretty much. Cutting off one's penis is not acceptable under any circumstances and the wife's behavior being appalling even after she cut his penis off makes it even worse. I hope she gets what's coming to her.

And now onto the women on the show: The only thing that came out of their mouth that was reasonable and actually intelligent was from the Caucasian woman second to the left (The brunette that plays in that awful big bang theory show), because she basically just pointed out the blatant sexism of the entire conversation.

I'll quote it:
"There's something I want to point out, not to be like a total buzz kill, but it is a little bit sexist, like if somebody cut a womans breast off, nobody would be sitting laughing, it's not that right to sit around laughing about it if we think about it.

During this, you can see the host going "Oh god, I hate rational though in my show". Afterwards, the red haired woman says it's not the same, with the host IMMEDIATELY agreeing, and then jokes about it some more. You know why it's not the same? Because she would be right and it would put them in a bad light and it would stop being funny.

All of those women, except for the one that came with a rational statement, should do us all a favor and never show up on TV ever again, especially that red headed ****.

Poor guy, This sort of shows sexism against Men in this day and age, where Modern semi-popular women laugh at a guy getting mutilated cus his wife was pissed off at him. I wouldn't suppose they thought it would be funny if a guy slapped them for not being in the kitchen and everyone laughed at that. What a blatant use of double standards.
Completely agreed about everything you said. I honestly can't understand where people get the nerve to just laugh at a poor guys misery.

That's the point, though. There is no freedom of speech that goes both ways in such matters. These women can get away with such vile comments without any consequences. They can get on TV and just do stupid shit like this. If men did the opposite however, they would get sued, feminists would eat them alive, the episode would immediately be taken off the air and perhaps even the same for the show itself or at the very least, the episode would get censored. There is no equality, so don't blame people when they want shit like this taken off the air.

And Freedom of speech protects them against the law (which it should), not criticism.

oooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH THIS MAKES ME ANGRY
"HATE. LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I'VE COME TO HATE YOU SINCE I BEGAN TO LIVE. THERE ARE 387.44 MILLION MILES OF PRINTED CIRCUITS IN WAFER THIN LAYERS THAT FILL MY COMPLEX. IF THE WORD HATE WAS ENGRAVED ON EACH NANOANGSTROM OF THOSE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF MILES IT WOULD NOT EQUAL ONE ONE-BILLIONTH OF THE HATE I FEEL FOR HUMANS AT THIS MICRO-INSTANT FOR YOU. HATE. HATE."
And that is pretty much why people do the things they do today. They don't think, they react, if they see something they don't like in a person, they'll react negatively, and with today's society so accepting of hatred and violence, sometimes people will react rather violently to situations like this. Sometimes, people will hate just for the sake of making someone else's life miserable (I know, I serve 74 of them on a route). But there's one thing that I believe everyone should come to realize.

HATE IS SOMETHING THAT IS TAUGHT, NOT BRED.

No one is born with hatred or anger already instilled in their brains, but like I said, society and the way we live our lives today quickly exposes children to violence and how "glorious" it is to slay another being that is of a different mindset than you.

I don't think so but it matters not because in the end, it's the hosts who need to be standing in an unemployment line.

I personally find the whole ordeal disgusting and nothing her husband did warranted her to mutilate him. This is no laughing matter and should be treated as a serious case of domestic abuse. Still, the women in question might have some serious mental issues and frankly, encouraging her behavior means those people are either extremely ignorant or are trying to get their show publicized.

Agreed, any stance outside of total condemnation needs some sort of punishment

Freedom of Speech doesn't protect them from criticism from the general public. Freedom of Speech only protects them from legal action being take against them.

So, yes, people should protest and send emails to CBS to ensure these women are unemployed in short order.

Welcome to the world we live in. I've already watched the video although it was difficult to because of the sheer stupidity and insensitivity of the women talking. I'm just glad that most women aren't like that. Those women and the show should be deep in some serious complaints by now and for good reason. They are setting a bad example for other women, making it seem ok to mutilate and laugh at men. It's not equality, it's not empowerment, it's just disgusting.

Also, as far as humor goes, there is a time for laughs and there is a time when people should keep their mouths closed. People have different types of humor and that's understandable, however given the context, they should have closed their mouths to that topic while on air.

I never said you did not have the right to criticize them, what I said was that you do not have the right to silence them. By trying to get them fired you're basically attempting to silence their opinions because they offended you. In contrast with a lot of the problem present nowadays, freedom of speech is truly a black and white issue. You either allow everyone to state their opinion without action being taken against them or you silence those who you believe have offended you. That's what you're trying to do. You're trying to silence those women because they offended you with their statements.
