Movies are not Scary

Shows are almost Scary

but overall i haven't found anything that has scared the shit out of me (Even games stop scaring me)

so i broke it down to Anime since it's the only one that i haven't looked into much for getting scared

so what is a good scart anime that can make me sleep with the lights on ?

There was this one called Elfen Lied or something like that. It was pretty freaky, but I mean it's still a cartoon so it's not gonna be the exorcist or anything...

Erm... Death Note can get pretty damn creepy. I wouldn't call it scary but Light's mindset is fairly... Well, yeah.

Elfen Lied is not scary in any way. It's just gorn. And bad gorn at that, though it's hard for gorn to be anything except bad...

Thats kinda hard since you kind a get desensitized to horror watching animated cardboard cutouts run away from psycho killer wannabes, but I have seen some good pretty creepy animes. Elfen Lied is pretty far on the gory side but there are also some demented and twisted subject matter that really freaks you out. Perfect Blue is another good one about a rising pop star whos veiw on reality gets increasingly skewed and has a huge habbit of fucking with the audience. Death Note may not be out right scary but it does have a amazingly written story, shocking plot twists and some very perplexing morality issues on crime and punishment. If you can forgive the incredibly annoying Jpop girl that graces the show presence then this is a good one.

And if you want creepy read the original Watchmen comic. You'd have to have blood as cold as ice to not get chills from Rorschachs back story and clairvoyant(because you NEVER see this coming) to not be blown out of your mind by the books shocking ending.

Hell yeh, that was a scary one, for sure.

But anyway, you might like this one [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcIFX3-Cfm4].

You can probably tell from the first few seconds what's about to happen and the description gives you a fair warning, so don't go blaming me!

I have to recommend Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni. That's one of the only really "scary" animes I've ever watched, mostly because of the immense mindfuck it pulls on a regular basis.

This, this, fucking this. You may also want to check out Serial Experiments Lain. Elfen Lied, which I saw mentioned earlier is more violent than scary.

Way to spoil the best story arc. That scene isn't even scary without context.

the second series is a little less scary, probably because it explains more stuff

Hahah. Truth be told, I didn't even get that far with the anime, so ain't really aware of the context. I just had the scene "recommended" to me by a friend. Saved me some time, anyway.

Gantz and Berserk are kind of horror based, but not as scary as gory/suspenseful.

Ask around in this [http://lin2.warcry.com/forums/read/16.39166] thread and you might get a few series along the lines of what you are looking for.

The OP isn't creepy enough to get the point across? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hHKmiRwyBU

Season 2 is just... I didn't finish season 2. It seemed to lack that special feeling season 1 had, where it felt like death was lurking around every corner and an invisible knife was at your throat.

EDIT: Someone really should mention the naming system. Season 1 of Higurashi ends in "Koro ni." Season 2 ends with "Koro ni Kai" and season 3 end in "Koro ni Rei." When I was watching I accidentally loaded season 2 episodes a few times, so be mindful of that if you decide to watch.
