And here I was thinking that we'd go the whole day without an MLP thread 
OT: I saw the Skyrim parody when it was going around, but that put me off more than anything. Then I talked to @XxRyanxX, a twenty year old guy who seemed to enjoy the show. I was intrigued, decided to give it a go, and loved it. It's not good, imo, because it's mature, because the world is particularly interesting, or because there's adult humour slipped in there, but because it's so bloody innocent, the visuals are stunning and the characters incredibly cute.
I've seen all the eps now, except the cutie mark crusaders. For some strange reason, I can't stand those three. :S
Anyway, this is far and away the most embarrassing thing I've ever admitted to, so shhhhhhhhhhhh.
Also, this feels more like a confession circle than a fan thread. Just sayin'.

How did you first get into the show?
I was curious about all of the pony avatars here and on another one of my favorite websites, so I headed over to youtube to find out what all the fuss was. Next thing I know, it's 5 am and I'm still up watching the show.
How deep into the fandom do you get?
Not very deep, so far it's just watching the episodes, I have a few pictures stored on my computer, and reading the pony threads here, with an occasional post in one.
Do you have limits on how deep into the fandom you will go?
I'm going to avoid Rule 34 and most fanfics.

I like the show and the funny images it creates, doesn't really go much farther than that. I never visit any of the Chan sites where this supposedly became popular.
I certainly won't be buying any pony-related toys anytime soon. >_>
I think the farthest I may go is a possible avatar change here on the Escapist and/or a new pony spray in TF2. Although I seem to have an unhealthy obsession with Applejack for reasons I can't explain. :l

Last image is dangerously close to Rule 34 territory but I still like it.

It's just so... cute! I've only watched a few episodes but it has some pretty damn cool lore behind it. Heck if the ponies were anime characters we would hardly notice a difference!
Actually, wikipedia tells me that Lauren Faust (maker of the show) co-produced Powerpuff Girls... Well PPG was pretty cool too!
I just... I don't know. I think I'm more like 'D'awwwww!' over how insane everyone is going about it, but I can't deny I REALLY enjoyed those episodes I watched... I may have to watch some more :3
i actually watched the first two episodes around the time they were on tv with my cousin(10 year old girl) and thought it was ok but never saw more

I enjoy ponies and everything they represent, they're charming, the show is clever, the animation is superb (possibly the best flash animation I've ever seen!), and every single character is likeable, even if I hated them at first (eg. Spike and Rarity).
However, being a 15 year old Male...
There are certain constraints that I have put up for myself.
These include not fully showing my Bronyhood (Even if I really, really want to).
This is the reason that so far I have no set up a Pony Avatar nor have I told anyone at my school about it. I've thrown in references such as '20% Cooler' and 'Oatmeal, are you Crazy?' but to no avail, I can confirm that none of my friends are bronies. It's even worse considering I am from New Zealand, and the only way to know about the show from here is via The Escapist, 4chan, or some other minor site, they haven't really shown themselves in places such as reddit or facebook that much..
And that was assuming my friends ever use the internet for anything other than Facebook. Telling my friends would only garner a negative response, and portray me as a hipster or a 'weirdo' or something. Unless it gets more popular and possibly comes to New Zealand, I'll keep it covert for now :3.

This generation of ponies started airing in October last year. My Little Pony in general has been around since the early 80's. While I've only briefly watched the intro to the first generation of MLP it has some ity bits in common with the newest generation intro theme.Ledan said:
