A Sony Super Smash Bro's-type game?

Would you like this? A Super Smash Bros type game, but Playstation characters.
I think it would be pretty cool, it could have characters from Final Fantasy, MGS, Resistance, Uncharted, Killzone etc.

This is my opinion anyways, but I just wanna add that if you wanted a crossover fighter, it would probably be more suited to be a marvel vs capcom style game anyways.

Well theres dissidia which is really fast pace and good ( not sony but still )
Theres also Marvel vs capcom ( still not sony )
Mortal kombat vs dc universe ( again not sony )

Anyways my point is , they all failed , except MvC and dissidia , so no it would not be a good idea . Plus SSBB , isn't nintendo exclusive , ( sonic and snake is in .) Sony doesn't have enough memorable characters to pull that off.

Hmm. the only fighter I know that has kratos in is MK9, and it isn't really a crossover fighter...

And that one was successful. Successful enough to have been featured in EVO 2011.

EDIT: You're basically right though, SONY doesn't really have enough memorable characters.

It sounds like a messy snore-fest. None of these characters are really iconic. You can make a game with all the FF characters alone (and they DID).

Mash-Ups can be fun sometimes, but copying the Brawler style of SSB will be tricky, you need to flex your physics and programming muscles for it.

Look at TMNT Smash-Up. It wasn't that great...

It could work if they used games that where exclusive to the PS instead of just first party chars. Crash bandy, Jax & Dexter, Rachet & Clank, ICO and shadows, ect. But if it was only first party char it would be harder to do since a lot of those chars don't have the SSB feel to them. We all know how outta place snake was in the game.

Yeah, it'd be hard to take an x-platform Sony fighter seriously. It may depend on the style, though. A Dissidia/Tenkaichi-esque style (I mean, 3D fighting game style--not all the flying and whatnot) might be a little cooler. That way, each character could have a bit more of a unique feel to their movements.

Sony doesn't have many mascots, let alone mascots that won't look wonky if thrown all together. Marvel and Capcom at least are both companies where most characters can be somewhat stylized. And with dark, gritty, realistic shooters selling right now...

But if it did happen, Ratchet and Jak please! We need to solve some geeky bar bets on who would win.

I'm not putting down Sony or anything they've done, but they just don't have the character lineup to pull it off. It would just end up being a cheap rip-off, unsuccessful of SSBB.

I do agree with Yahtzee, though, in that the game companies should just make "Marvel vs DC vs Capcom vs Mortal Kombat vs Virtua Fighter vs Soul Calibur vs Nintendo vs Sega vs Sony vs VALVe vs WWC vs Lucasfilms vs Lego vs Bethesda vs Microsoft vs Atari vs Rockstar: Brawl" and just get it over with. But you gotta admit, it would be the best selling game ever, if only to see if Gordon Freeman could win a fight against Mario, or Marcus Pheonix vs Master Chief.

No , i didnt even know kratos was in mk9 . I found it it's soul caliber: broken destiny for the psp . Thanks though.

AFAIK I think it's only for the ps3 version.
