Speed Freaks on the PS1!
It was basically the first video game I ever played and I loved it, it was so bizarre and colourful that my 4-5 year old brain went into overload.
Also, American Spellchecker is annoying me. Saying I spelt colourful wrong. :(

Lufia II The Rise of the Sinestrals. It was a very dynamic role playing game for it's time. Mystical Ninja 64 would be a close second.

Jet Force Gemini. I loved that game so much, and it never got any attention because Rare was more famous for Donkey Kong and other such things.

Alundra, it was fucking magnificent, dark and emotional storyline (seriously) fun as heck and hard and challenging puzzles (sometimes too hard) and tough bosses (some are pushovers though)
Was gonna say the same thing. That game was awesome. One of my most memorable gaming experiences.

...now I have to play it again.

I heard it's on the PSN store, may be able to pick up a copy there, I still have my PS1 copy, scratched to hell and back but miraculously still works fine.
Haha, I also have my old copy, and funnily enough mine is also scratched to all hell yet still works fine.

Mine is Mischief Makers 64. The game looks pretty crappy on the box but it was filled with awesome challenges and boss fights, including different game play stle than usual.
I've seen a lets play of that game on Youtube. It does look really good.

Anyway, for me that would probably be Klonoa: Door to Phantomile.

I can't really think of anyone else who has owned the game back then but I'm pretty sure I had some of my friends play it. And from what I've heard physical copies of the game are really rare and expensive. Although probably less so now that it's on the PSN for 6 bucks. Or maybe they are even more valuable now. I'm not sure really.

Another game that no one I knew played would probably be Metal Arms: Glitch in the System

Also an awesome game.

Both of these games are downloadable. The former on the PSN and the latter on XBOX LIVE.

That was my fav game on 64 ever! Collecting the bug heads to trade for stuff. ohhh, and the ant disco!

But, my first childhood game was Secrets of Evermore on the SNES.

Fighting Vipers on the Saturn.
Nobody else seems to remember that game. But it was awesome!

I still play it when I have some time to kill. I think the game is considered to be a classic, so I'm sure there's other folks who like the game, but I've never met anyone who's played it (besides my dad who showed me the game).

I remembered another one. Ski or die.
Mate, you're speaking my language. I grew up on that shit. Ah the memories. Just watching that video brought a smile to my face.

I'm a broken record when it comes to this question, but Crystalis.

That game is my early childhood.

How to get to the 8th dungeon in Zelda? Got me.
How to beat Contra? Fuck if I know.

But I can sure as hell tell you in bizarrely accurate detail where to find the Power Ring in the Oasis Cave south of Goa.
Crystalis was AMAZING! Somehow I never had any NES Zelda games, but I had Crystalis.

Willy Beamish
Great point-n-click game where you play as a somewhat troublesome kid (the first task in the game is sneaking out of detention) who tries to save up for a game tournament. It was a pretty tough game with many opportunities for death and game over scenes.

Billy Hatcher & The Giant Egg.

It was for the Gamecube and it was so unbelievably strange and awesome and had one of the most catchy theme tunes EVER

It basically involved finding various large eggs, pushing them along to squash fruit so that they would grow until they were big enough to yell at until they cracked and a cool little creature would come out which you then tamed and used to fight big devil cats and save your friends.

Nuff said.

Evil Zone for the PS1. A great little fighting game with a weird as fuck story. I still have it, too.

I'm pretty sure hardly anybody here has played Glover.

Which is a shame, because it was one of the most unique titles on the N64.

I'm not sure the applies to "no one else seems to have played," but the first Actraiser was something amazingly special to me. I really wish we had a modern equivalent.
