So against the advice of a few friends, I picked up Alpha Protocol. And the game was actually interesting, but then I hit a snag, something seemingly minor, but which remained in the back of my mind, gnawing at me when I play the game.

What could it be?

Well, the unbelievably bad crouching animation. Seriously, it looks like the game has suddenly become a Benny Hill sketch. It is THAT bad!

Have you found any such awful animation (not glitches, actual animation) that completely ruined the game for you? I must admit it's a first for me, but this innocuous detail ruined the game.

That's one of the main reasons I didn't buy it. No joke.

This doesn't really count, but in Gears of War the way the characters move are so unnatural that make me feel like I'm controlling big round blobs that explode when shot. They're just so... inhuman. But I love Gears, so...

I cant beleive that one tiny detail could ruin an entire game for you. Im struggling to find a word to describe you.

I also cant beleive THAT'S what ruined that game for you. I would've said it's a bad mass effect copy, or that it's story is terrible.

Out of the hundreds of games I've played in the past 20 years, this was the first time it happened. But yes, that animation got so drilled into my mind that I was deliberately avoiding crouching for as long as I could.

I have to agree on that one actually. It's just not all that appealing on he eyes.

OT: Whenever I see someone run into a wall and running animation is still going, I just sigh. Mainly because it just doesn't look right to me at all.

Okay this didn't exactly ruin the game for me but it does remind me of 1000 ways to die (Why is this moron talking about 1000 ways to die?), in Red Dead Redemption I used dead eye while still in cover this cause John to shoot the sky while looking the other way, after 2 seconds of nothing the enemies in front of me get shot and die. The sad thing is I was in the desert with no one else. What does this have to do with this topic.... give me a day or two to figure that out.

I know I bring this game up far too much, but I can't stand the gun-wielding animations in Jedi Academy. Even when I'm in first person, I know I'm going to come across somebody else wielding a gun eventually, and see that they're shooting a sniper rifle FROM THE HIP.

There are plenty of others though. Not really fond of Niko Bellic's run in GTA IV. And a lot of games can't seem to get the 'crouch' animation right. That particular stance can look really awkward the majority of the time.

Have you seen it in Alpha Protocol, though? It quite literaly looks like he's trying to shake off his shoes!

I was going to say the TF2 Scout's "Crazy Legs" but then I remembered
-It wasn't intended (although, judging by the time it took Valve to fix it, it was)
-I actually found it quite funny, thus improving the game

The jumping in Uncharted 2 annoys me. Not wall-climbing jumping, the regular jump you do when there's nothing to jump to.
Why would anyone flail around that much for a little hop?

Admittedly, no, I haven't. Between the generally mediocre reviews and the 'Obsidian' label slapped on it, I've been avoiding it like... um... something that you generally avoid, lol.
