"Don't need to tell me twice," Nathanius calls down from the command platform.

With a shudder and a jolt, the Rapier pulls away from the landing platform, the heart of the ship belching black smoke demanding more coal. The Nubian ship rises across the platform as well as others as captains and crews decide a firefight is the last place they want to be.

Nathanius raises his arm to block the harsh light of the evening sun and looks down on the barren wasteland that was once the home of all mankind.

Marco lights a cigarette and turns to Nathanius. "That ship that just took off, The ebon hold, is being hunted by the queen of Nuban." he looks out over the side of the ship. "They were her ex-royal guards or something like that." He tosses his cigarette off the side of the ship, asking "Have you heard of a substance called gasoline?" he laughs, as a fire begins to overtake the deck they launched from, blocking the pursuers.

"It burns." He laughs slightly, pointing at the fleeing persuers. "I figured out it's an extract from the ground... The future mate, the future." He then turns. "So, where to? Any course in mind?" Marco pulls out a map of the region, you notice he placed X's over cirtain areas.

"Just following that Derigible, the Ebon Hold, you called it? Well, it's got our friend in the crazy armor on board, and I wanna find out what's going on with the Emperor," Nathanius leans over to take a better look at the map, "What are those X's for?"

"The Ebon Hold is our friend's ship." He said slowly. "I should warn you boss, don't mess with the Nuban Fleet, once they sick an assassin on you you'll have a world of problems." He looks at the X's. "Memories, bad memories."

"Go ahead and sit kid." He laughed. "I bet it's going to be a long ride." He pulled out a deck of cards. "Wanna play?"

you can always board your derigible and follow them because you want to see what they know of the emperor's death

Show up as a guy who fled into our ship for protection from the fight, but picked the wrong ship. Or you could take Marco's docked ship, he doesn't need it.

thanks guys I'll take the third option in my guy's bio it says he has no ship

Seeing a small diridgable that was unatended he wrenched open the cockpit and jumped in, then cursing his stupidity he jumped put again, most of the combatants had fled the fire that had suddenly started out of nowhere so he was able to grad a burning piece of what had once been high quality silk ready for loading on the end of his bayonette, then using that to light the diridgable's furnace and grabbing a sack of coal he again grbed the controlls and took off. Clearing the smoke he saw a couple of larger diridgables and having no other heading decided to follow, he was unfamiliar with this part of the waistland, and he figred he would stop and find work at the first airfield or skydock they saw.

Does anyone mind if I use airship instead of dirigeable, it seams less clumy to type.

Yea, it's fine I think, nobody is going to groan over it

*Marco's Ship, "Cursed Luck" is a pretty shoddy piece of work on first glance, everything is clearly handmade out of scraps, but for a ship this cruddy she handles well, you can't help but notice a small photograph of a man saluting the Nuban flag. The ship is sparsely armed (and there is no food or water rations at all), but moves quickly and with relatively little noise. If it wasn't for the engine (which was clearly on it's last legs), and the battered hull, this would be a excellent beginners assassin ship*

Marco looked out the window. "What in the hell..." He can see his ship taking off. "Damn, that thing just won't die." He laughs nervously. "When we're done here, promise me we can see if we can figure out how my ship flies itself." he remarks. "Here's hoping it doesn't blow up trying to follow me." His thoughts turned to the weak metal the engine of his ship is made out of...

"Hmm. Someone taking your ship doesn't bug you? Well, I guess you won't be needing it anymore. Let's play some cards."

Kit pulls up a chair and starts shuffling Marco's cards.

"Nah, you'd be surprised. That ship just keeps showing up at my doorstep." He laughs slightly, waiting for his hand to be dealt to him. "So... Kit right? Tell me about yourself." he says.

As the Cursed Luck accelerated after the other airships Markus slowly got used to her handling, she vibrated and had a flight list to the port side but other than that she was a nice one person airship, he found himself starting to like its sounds and the feel of her controls under his hands, but just as he thought that the engine gace a large bulch, but continued running.

He noticed a photograph half wedged under ont of the presure guages, it was of a man saluting the Nuban flag, "If I ever see this man I must thank him for use of his dirigdgable" he thought.

He looked around and found what he was hoping to, A small stained set of signal flags, es locked the controls and put out the one that meant "request to join convoy"

Marco got up from the table and flew the flag customarily known as a "pursue with caution". Half laughing to himself that his own ship is asking now. He wonders who has the gall to take his ship then ask to join a convoy.

Markus sighed withdrawing the flag, there was no way of knowing who owned this airship, thearefore who was after it, from the looks of the hull it had been in more than one battle, if he had been traveling woth an airship that size noone would attack without good reason, he decided to follow just out of range, he still had no idea of where the nearest place where he could resuply was, he had no food and only a canteen of water. if the other airship turned to attak he would get a rash couese in just what this one could do. He had crashlanded the "Freedom's Revenge" almost single handed alter most of the bridge was shot away, and she was a lot larger that this crate.

Should we wai for the others to catch up with the story?

Nathanius notices the smaller ship and is happy to see that Marco knows how to signal back that the ship is ok where it is, but shouldn't approach too closely. You never know just who is on a Derigible and to be entirely honest, he isn't sure how long that crap heap will keep running and an explosion from a any ship, even a small one like that could put other Derigibles quickly out of commission.
